  1. Don't know why an 11 seed has to play in. IMO that should be just for 16 seeds.
  2. Nice to see Iowa drop to a play-in game. Still don't understand why an 11 seed has to play in. That should be reserved for teams at the bottom of the pile IMO
  3. We're going Dancing! Soooo excited! Noticed CBS automatically jumped to a Creighton - Baylor matchup.
  4. I'd be down with that. I be down with meeting ANYBODY in the 2nd round because it means we've won our first ever NCAA game! However, a match against Creighton would be welcome.
  5. I wonder how many Kansas fans are questioning the rudeness of "Rock Chalk Jayhawk."
  6. No, I don't think it would be awkward at all. I heard Miles on the radio recently paying Doc a nice compliment and I don't think Doc is the kind of person who would allow an awkward moment. I remember seeing him shake hands with Elliott Eliason after we lost to Minnesota at home and he shook Elliot's hand and they smiled like and acted like they were old friends. I think the people involved in that reunion would just be happy for each other. Yeah but Husker Hoops Fan insisted there was bad blood between Sadler and the Eliason family (before he was banned) . Yeah, he was right about soooooooo MANY things!
  7. Anyone know how to send them some Runzas? That ought to put us in good!
  8. Talent wise I'd agree but Indy doesn't have the coach for it IMO.
  9. Just curious -- isn't there some standard for rims that would make them the same at every NCAA sanctioned game? If so, how could NW rims be different from any other place?
  10. Yes indeed! Just win and move on.
  11. It is almost a home game for IU. Illinois is the wildcard team of the whole tournament IMO. They could get bounced or go all the way. I'm thinking they will exit early.
  12. I do like the leg of the bracket we are in. Would hate to have to go through BOTH Wisc and MSU again. The might harbor some resentment.
  13. OP gives the impression that Boehm is somehow being tight fisted about this. Not at all my impression from the OWH article. Rather, I think he just needs a bit of time to get ducks in a row. Also, is that Boehm's decision to make? Maybe it is but he might just want to check with the AD before doling out $50,000. I know that is chicken feed for most folks but in my world that's still a lot of money.
  14. Of course part of being COTY is the recruiting work ahead of time to get players like that. Still, I think I'll put more stock in how his coaching peers voted.
  15. Don't know. I think if the site is neutral (as in San Antonio playing UCLA) we should be OK. But if we wind up playing what is effectively an away game, then it is tougher. The B1G tournament will be a good training ground for the Dance. And I like it that we have a coach who has been there and done it before. We can handle the bruising inside OK but we will need good guard play and I wish we had a more natural point guard. Finally, if I were an opposing team, I would study the Illinois game film carefully to see the right way to defend us.
  16. Still an open question but sure want to. These things don't happen every year around here! -- Yet!
  17. If Lundardi's bracket is right (as of today -- 3/10), we would have to meet them in the championship game so, yeah, that would be awesome!
  18. The number of things THEY'VE DONE that I didn't think they'd do is fairly long. Don't know if we WILL but WE CAN win this whole thing.
  19. But the good news is they're young! With dedication to off-season conditioning and film study I believe the Red Zone will rise to the occasion next season! We especially need Jean to step up her game.
  20. Lunardi has us in as an 11 seed as of now. Apparently, ESPN's Brennon is not ready to call us a lock for the tournament even though he says Iowa is. Is he an Iowa alum or just crazy?
  21. Well said. I've always liked Bo Ryan. I wouldn't expect him to gush over an opposing crowd. If you were a Wisconsin fan would you want your coach to boost an opposing fan base's ego? To me it was his way of saying that was no excuse for how his team played. Don't expect him to gush over the team or the fans but respect might have been nice. It isn't pandering to give a nod to the other team and crowd and then say something to the effect of learning from it and playing better next time. His comments were largely sour grapes talking and I, for one, have lost some of the respect I had for him going into the game.
  22. This is why you can't put too much stock in oneiromancy.
  23. Rankings in college BB are pretty meaningless so just keep winning Huskers!
  24. Taking a team from last to #4 seed. Absolutely COY! Maybe if some other team had gone undefeated ahead of us I might think different. But NO COACH has done more.
  25. Billy Graham's preaching and folks start coming down the aisle!
