JoJo the show Anderson -> Northern Arizona

It means that you have to pay to read the article as it's on a premium site. -
this thread is pretty amazing to read. At some point, we all becames die-hard fans for various reasons. I've been a season ticket holder since the 90's and have sat through many, many, many, many, many bad seasons and I'm still there every game. That doesn't make me upset for people that are just buying season tickets now as it just make me appreciate the hopefully good basketball days that are ahead. People didn't resent me when I became a season ticket holder so not sure why I would resent anyone from wanting to become one now. I hope we pack the PBA every game as it's a much better atmosphere with a big crowd.

I agree as think 30 second shot clock would be preferred over current time limit and 24 shot clock. I would love to see it go to 30 seconds. And while we are making changes, let's eliminate a timeout and go to 4 instead of 5. Or if not, then make all 5 timeout just 30 second timeouts and not have full timeouts anymore.

Burke was not a 5 star player nor a one and done player. I would be happy to recruit a kid like this to Nebraska.

Asst. Coach Ben Johnson to Minnesota

This program already has one arm tied behind it's back when it comes to recruiting. We need someone with solid D1 recruiting experience. If I were TM, I would ask myself what area of the country he needs to bolster his recruiting, given his staff (sans Johnson), then go find an assistant from a mid major school who has demonstrated he can recruit that part of the country. Miles already turned down Strickland once so not sure why people would think he would hire him now. I'd rather go a different direction than Strickland and focus on someone with strong recruiting ties. -
I'd love to get a big name school but would rather schedule a team that we can beat. Would hate to open up the new arena with a loss. I'd be fine with a middle of the road mid-major team.

They got Akoy and we didn't. I understand why, of course, still doesn't mean I have to like it. Go Shox! (and just to be clear, I don't really care...I'm just messing around) Still...Go Shox. I wasn't even thinking about the whole Agau situation so now I get it. I didn't really care who won that game either but really wanted Michigan to win as I can't stand Syracuse. It should be a great match-up with Louisville and Michigan tomorrow night. Both deserving teams to be there.

What do you mean, "just on principal alone"?

Can you image if someone just logged into the message board for the 1st time and had to start reading from page 1 -
I think Doc could be successful as a Mid-Major program but not sure he can compete as a coach in a major conference (yet). He might down the road but don't think he could today. Some coaches (Coach McDermott for example) just seem to be more successful at that level. I do agree he might have more success in Texas than he did here. And to your point that Texas Tech hasn't proved it in their last two hires, you could make the same case for NU with our last two hires prior to Miles. Most of us wanted better and think Texas Tech could do better than hiring Doc. Not saying they shouldn't hire him but would expect they can get a coach with a better track record.

And they could do a whole lot better than Doc Sadler. Why would he leave the cushy job he has now at KU? If I was him, I'd stay there as long as I could. He wasn't going to get a good coaching job after he got fired from NU so he ended up landing a great gig at KU. He gets to be apart of one of the greatest college basketball programs. Who would want to leave that. Umm...somebody who wants to coach? Wants to coach and can coach are not the same thing.

Do anyone know what time he is suspose to make his announcement tomorrow? -
Duke plays Okie State tonight for the right to face the Huskers Easter night. They actually would play Easter Day as game will either be at 11am or 1:30pm.
-
Yep Totally agree as it would be a joke if they did this. Nothing like taking the league divisions and making one of them extremely weaker than the other. it was the exact same in the big 12 and even more sad was we couldn't even win the North most years. I sure hope they make it more evenly competitive and not worry about geography.
-
Miles never said that. All he said that he doesn't want to be the first Big 10 team to play in CBI. Of course, nobody wants to play in the CBI but that doesn't mean we won't.

The NU ticket office told me that the last row in the lower bowl was row 24.

Benny Parker was at the free throw line when the Iowa student section was chanting "Gary Coleman", he turns around to all us husker fans and says "I doubt he knows who Gary Coleman is." This is hilarious!!!
-
I stand corrected as they are the best high school basketball ever in Nebraska history. And it's 7 of the last 8 years they have won State. That is flat out amazing for Class A.

Central is one of the best high teams to ever play in Nebraska. They are fun to watch.

Schedule next year: could we have a worse con record next year?
kldm64 replied to PimpMario's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
We said the same thing last year about Lance Jeter and how are we going to replace him as he was the only one who could get to the rim when he wanted to. Turns out Talley replaced him. I'm not comparing the two players but just saying that players will find their role next year. I think Biggs can handle the ball and get to the rim when needed and/or shoot the 3. Beyond having 1 more big man, I really like how our team shapes up for next season (young or not).
