  1. I would agree that we are a bubble team with AW3. Currently our starting 5 is solid. Throw in White that means we have a good starting 5 plus a really good 6th man. Throw in Gill and Roby once they get up to speed and that's a pretty darn good 8 man rotation. Throw in Jordy, Horne, and ET (not sure is he would be here if it wasn't for AW3) and we would be a deep, talented team. But oh well. I still really like the team we have now. And it's gonna be a fun season to watch.
  2. I didn't see any of the game since I was working and it wasn't on tv. But sounds like the starting 5 is really good. Bench needs some work but will come around. Remember Jordy (1 wk), Zay (3.5 months), and Gill (2.5 months) all missed time in the preseason. This Saturday will be a good test before they play Dayton.
  3. I'd have to politely pass on all the other transfers though.
  4. Obviously you would want to keep AW3 for 3pt shooting and rebounding. Can never have too much of that. I'd also say I wouldn't be opposed to keeping Tarin Smith or Jake Hammond. Simply for added depth at their positions. I think we are okay if Smith is your 4th or 5th best gaurd and Hammond is your 3rd or 4th best post player.
  5. Tarin Smith is starting and averaging just over 10 PPG. Shooting percentage is horrendous though.
  6. T. Webster 14 pts 5 reb 3 asst 2 stl G. Watson 10 pts 2 reb 6 asst 1 stl J. McVeigh 9 pts 4 reb 1 asst A. Gill 9 pts 2 reb 1 stl I. Roby 8 pts 4 reb 2 asst 1 stl M. Jacobson 8 pts 5 reb 1 asst E. Morrow 8 pts 6 reb 2 blk J. Tshimanga 3 pts 5 reb 1 blk J. Horne 3 pts 2 reb E. Taylor* 3 pts 2 reb 1 asst N. Fuller* 2 pts 1 reb *indicates they won't play every game. Two of the last three players (Fuller, Taylor, and Horne) won't make the rotation. I went with Horne bc of his 3 pt shooting and I think his defense will progress as the season does.
  7. I was hoping we would find another Tanner Borchardt from those tryouts. We need a big bodied practice guy to bang around with Jordy, Ed, and Jacobson. Hopefully he can provide some valuable practice depth! Best of luck to the kid.
  8. Missed the first half but here are some of my observations: - Zay is a really really good basketball player. - Our four sophomores will all be solid players minimum. - Glynn let the game come to him, didn't force anything, and played like a true PG. - McVeigh will be a good shooter for us, hopefully he gets some help. Plus I'm just now realizing Jack has a little attitude with his game which I always appreciate. - I love the front court combo of Morrow and Jacobson. That's a tough duo right there. - Gill will be a good scoring option. However, I do not think he will have the impact that I was at first anticipating. - Tai is our leader and I expect him to see another scoring increase. - Horne can shoot the 3. Hopefully he can play good enough defense to stay on the floor. - Jordy has the talent but he definitely is far from being Big Ten ready imo. Hopefully it was just first game jitters or just a bad game but fouling out against Chadron State is worrisome. - I loved ET and I hated ET. He's aggressive and plays good defense. But turned the ball over way too much and if he's gonna be aggressive taking it to the rim, it would be a good idea to be able to make more of his FT. - Looks like Fuller was out with his ankle injury. We won by 50+ and nobody got hurt. So overall goobjob. I'm ready to play some games that count now! GBR
  9. He is gonna be a defensive nightmare at that level if that is where he ends up. And he should be able to develop a solid offensive game.
  10. For anybody who cares, I've been at South the past few weeks and will be there for the rest of the month and at the moment I've heard UNO will be hard to beat for Arop. This is where he is leaning as of now, but he is open to somewhere else if better offers come around. Don't know how accurate it is but just thought I'd share.
  11. I was surprised to see Horne that far down on the depth chart as well. But being that what i read said with the Fuller injury Horne slides up the depth chart, i assume he is currently the last player off the bench not counting our two walkons. Miles acknowledged that he is gifted offensively but still struggling with defense and schematics . I think we will see his PT increase as the season goes on. Especially if we are struggling on offense.
  12. Agreed. I originally had super high expectations for AG (mainly due to Miles track record with transfers here in TP and AW). But I think it's getting clearer and clearer that we are going to be very balanced offensively. I would be surprised if we had a 15+ PPG scorer. I feel like we will have a handful of players in the 8-12 PPG range though.
  13. My guess of the rotation at this point is: STARTERS Watson Webster McVeigh Morrow Jacobson BENCH 6. Gill 7. Roby 8. Tshimanga 9. Taylor 10. Fuller 11. Horne -I expect Horne to move past Fuller as the season progresses. But it's been stated that with Fuller's minor injury Horne has temporarily moved up in the rotation (I was surprised he was even behind him) -Roby will be a starter as soon as he gets into game shape and gets a little experience under his belt -Jordy and Morrow will both start games at center -I have a feeling Gill might not meet my personal expectations that I had for him coming in. I thought he might contend for being the best player on the team but now I get the feeling he might not be top 5 (not necessarily a knock on Gill, could just be we have a lot of good players). His reoccurring migraines is also a concern.
  14. The starting lineup of Watson, Webster, McVeigh, Roby, and Jacobson is what Miles said the starting lineup would be IF everyone was healthy. Nobody predicted this lineup from what I recall.
  15. I've been excited since we lost to Maryland! I've made it clear that I am a huge Tim Miles fan and I'm really excited to see what he can do with this team. This will be his most talented roster here and possibly his most complete. Can't wait to get started. Hoping for a good, healthy year.
  16. Don't think any of us predicted this starting lineup.
  17. When Roby and Horne were teamed up for the second half and extra period who played which position? Just curious.
  18. I wasn't at the scrimmage so I only know what I read but I do have a couple questions for those of you who were there: 1. The teams for the second part of the scrimmage were announced via the Nebraska bball twitter page. What were the teams for the first part? 2. Did Fuller and the walkons particpate? I already know Ed was out due to illness. The teams that were announced were each 5 players but I didn't know if those were just the "starters" or if they are the only ones who played. 3. Who and what stood out? Both good and bad. Also, I found it interesting that the Red team (3 frosh, Glynn, Palmer) won the second half and OT over the more experienced White team. Hopefully that means are freshmen are really good!
  19. I wish I had a box score to analyze and nerd out over. Bummer. Good to see we played well against a good team. Read we lead almost the entire game until about 5 min to go. GBR
  20. I have to work So please fellow HHC brethren take good notes and post a lot of information.
  21. Nope. According to some, Creighton will beat us by 30 this year. They are just by far and wide the superior team and we have absolutely no chance. Not even at home.
