  1. It was fun. I go to PBA every year to watch state basketball, but this was my first time watching the boys in red. Not what I was hoping for but gives me a good reason to watch them live again rather soon. They deserve a redo.
  2. Crazy to think our 5 losses combined record is 45-4, including three teams that are currently in the Top 10. If we pull off that Clemson win there probably isn't a single poster on here who has anything negative to say about the direction of the program. Except those 1 or 2 guys who think it's ridiculous and uncalled for that we didn't beat the hell out of what will most likely be Creightons best team EVER. I'm super stoked for the season. We have a nice long week of practice and a couple "gimme" games to figure stuff out and get some players up to speed. Then we enter Big Ten, let the fun begin.
  3. Husker 80 G-W 64 This will be my first Nebrasketball game at PBA and I can't wait.
  4. I'm hoping we will be good on SG with Anton, James Palmer, and Nana next year.
  5. Need another C or PG
  6. Messy situation. Him and Arop would be quite the tandem tho. There would be some really good duos in the metro with Chandler/Behrens, Chang/Ayo, and Arop/Bratton.
  7. I'd say it has to be Roby, Gill, or ET for McVeigh. The problem with that is none of those 3 have played particularly stellar either. I don't see Jordy replacing McVeigh bc that means you're starting Jacobson, Morrow, and Jordy. I don't see how that would work offensively.
  8. -Jordy is getting better. That was the best team we have played to date imo. -Morrow is a freaking beast glad he is on our team. He's a walking double-double these next two years. And he is so nice around the rim. -Watson has been struggling the past two games but the other three gaurds have played extremely well versus Kansas. -Jacobson struggled around the rim today. -McVeigh only playing 7 min isn't going to cut it. It's frustrating bc we know what he can do but he's definitely got some mental hurdles he needs to clear. I'm fairly optimistic. This whole week of practice until the next game will be huge for Gill and Roby being that they missed so much time in the preseason. Plus two more (hopefully) cupcake games to get us rolling into Big Ten play. With the right mindset I think we can start Big Ten play 3-1. @ Maryland, v. Iowa, v. Northwestern are all winnable games. Won't be easy but it's not impossible.
  9. The problem i see with benching McVeigh is that Roby hasn't really played lights out, though it is clear he has a much higher ceiling than McVeigh. I think these next two games will help cement our starting lineup going into Big Ten play. McVeigh/ Roby is up for grabs and so is Jacobson/ Jordy. My only question is whether Jordy and Ed can/have played together (haven't got to see much of the games this year)
  10. Miles has caught some bad breaks. -Year 1: inherits a roster nightmare that has no business winning 5 conference games. -Year 3: TP dealing with pro aspirations and the death of his mother, Walt losing passion for the game, and Moses and L Smith injuries. -Year 4 offseason: just when Miles seems to have assembled enough talent to get us over the hump and get this program rolling, his best returning player bounces in the middle of the summer. I am acknowledging that as the HC everything falls on him. Both the good and bad. But still that's some unfortunate circumstances. If Miles is given the time to develop (which he has proven he can do) these Top 150 kids, all these losing seasons will be worth it bc we will be special.
  11. Not to keep bringing this up. But I think our offense looks a lot better if you know who doesn't screw us over in the middle of the summer. Tai, Jack, and Glynn have all been solid 3 pt shooters. Throw in AW3 to that mix and I think we are all much more pleased with
  12. Nebraska 65 Kansas 81 7 threes
  13. @Donkey Nana is actually blowing up pretty quickly. I've read numerous recruiting articles naming him as one of the most underrated recruits in the nation. Should be Top 150 by the time he makes it here. So far seems like a really good find by Miles and Co.
  14. Not to toot my own horn but in the CU Scout I did predict we'd be winning at half (down 1 close enough) but Creighton would pull away in the second half due to their depth at offense. I'm gonna chalk that up as a moral victory in the win column. See guys you gotta find the positives in life, it's easy and fun
  15. What would you specifically change about the game plan? We held Foster to 10 pts under his average. This was the first game of the season for both Foster and Patton not being in double figures. We held Khyri Thomas to 7 points on 3-9 shooting. I'd say we executed our game plan perfectly, defensively at least. I'm sure the goal was to make Watson beat us as he hasn't always been a good or consistent scorer in his career. Unfortunately for us he shot .500 and scored 20. Offense is a different story but I completely disagree if you are saying we weren't well prepared on defense. Creighton is just has a lot of weapons this season.
  16. Our struggles on offense aren't new to this season. I mean we only but up 70 against Marys. Saturday @ Kansas will be a struggle. But after that it's two games that will be great opportunity to get Gill/Jordy/ Roby minutes and to the next level before big ten play.
  17. My point is that if we got this same result this year but against a Creighton team that had the talent level of the two previous than I could understand all the negativity. But this is not an NIT or a sub .500 Creighton team, they are a legit Top 10 team!!! We played them tough for 22 min. Tai's 4th foul was the dagger in our hearts.
  18. You guys kill me. Oh my god can't believe we didn't beat what will probably be one of Creightons best teams, if not THE best, they've ever had. Wah wah wah let's all cry and fire Miles. Get over yourselves. We will be alright. We have young, talented players. The 4 sophomores and Tai are proof that this staff can develop players. Hell even Roby and Jordy are starting to look a lot better just over the past couple games. If this was any of the last two Creightons then I could understand all the negativity. But this is a legit top 10 team. I don't like it and you don't like it, but it's true. We have talent but unfortunately we are young and not the deepest. Creighton has talent but lucky for them they have experience and are deep. Once again we will be okay. Roby and Jordy are gonna keep getting better. And I have to believe so will Gill. If that happens we are gonna have a fun Big Ten season. We will be okay.
  19. I think ET will play a decent amount of minutes just for his defense. McVeigh is going to have a hard time guarding Tazz. I think Taylor draws that assignment when Creighton has all 3 starting gaurds on the court. Watson isn't a world beater offensively so I think Glynn can handle him. Tai is a really good defender. Hopefully he really slows Foster down with some lock down D. I think Jacobson/ Morrow can hold their own v. Creightons front court. Creighton has a huge advantage when it comes to bench play. If we could get some big surprises from our bench that would be huge. Our starters will have to play alot and play well to pull off the upset.
  20. NU 69 Creighton 81 If Anton was playing how we thought he would be I'd be predicting an upset.
  21. Blowing second half leads in four of our past 5 games is concerning. Tai admitted in post game conference that he was looking ahead to the Creighton game Wednesday and that team didn't do a good job of following the game to game mantra.
  22. NU 73 USD 59 One of my best friends from high school runs Track and XC for USD. Go Yotes.
  23. Last I heard he is a Denver lean. He played a little bit for Chauncey Billups' AAU team in Colorado. And Billups' brother in law (might be a different relationship but there is for sure a connection between the two) is the head coach at Denver. They have been pursuing him hard. That's been the word around South High lately. He does have a UNO offer as well and some MVC schools have been in to visit with him.
  24. Wasn't really trying to make a case that Arop should still be going to Lincoln. Just sharing info on how he performed in a huge game that had a lot of buzz around the metro area.
  25. I completely agree that talent wise he is a fringe P5 caliber player and since we don't need what his skill set offers it makes since to part ways. I just like the kid and Class A bball, so last night was kind of a big deal. Aside from Papio, Central is suppose to be top dog this year. Souths team is essentially Arop and a group of underclassmen so it was a big upset and big game (statistically) for Arop.
