Yep. STARTERS -Glynn Watson -Evan Taylor -James Palmer -Isaac Copeland -Jordy Tshimanga I dont see how we go only 8 deep. My guess is 9. -McVeigh -Roby -Allen or Gill -Okeke or Borchardt
-
Interesting note from Miles' presser: team went very very small against Iowa State and made a good run while doing so. Lineup: Glynn Watson Thomas Allen James Palmer Evan Taylor Isaiah Roby.

-Thor before Nana? I know it was just for a few seconds but i still find that telling. Anybody know if Nana's absence is discipline related? -James Palmer really looks like he could be our leading scorer. It will be interesting to see how he plays when he is well scouted. -Glynn had a killer game. Rest of the gaurds were solid. Several points and a couple of assists is what i expect from Thomas Allen. Evan Taylor has had ridiculous stats so far. -Aside from the Jack, nobody from the front court really had that great of a game. Copeland and Roby were solid but i want to see more from them. -None of our centers played much. Im assuming bc of matchups.
-
Saying Iowa State is a bad team bc they are picked next to last in their conference ignores the fact that the Big 12 is suppose to be extremely good and deep this year.
-
Yeah i remember when Nick Bahe was talking about that topic he referenced Terran and White for us and Marcus Foster for Creighton as players you hear about standing out and showing out during their redshirt year. Said he never heard things like that about Kaleb Joesph during his redshirt year. However, it is worth noting that he is dealing with a hamstring injury.
-
As a coach, i would want to redshirt as many kids as possible. Assuming they are up to snuff talent wise. A redshirt is more than likely going to be in your program for 4 years (1 rs year + 3years of playing) before they would transfer. Most kids wont want to lose a whole year of eligibility. A kid that doesnt redshirt is free to transfer whenever since they still have their redshirt available. However, that is easier said than done with the play now culture of sports.
-
I agree Nana plays a similiar role as Jeriah Horne. The good thing about his situation is Gill and Taylor are seniors so some clock will be freed up for next year. Jeriah was competing and losing time to other freshmen and sophomores. Thor is the only that will redshirt imo.

As a good of a chance as we have had in recent years is probably a better way to put it. Thomas is a defensive nightmare for the opposition and an efficient scorer. Foster gets buckets. But after that they are in the same boat as us with mainly young, inexperienced talent and transfers. However, i think ours are a little bit more seasoned. Home court advantage and the mental advantage that was mentioned in an above post will be tough to overcome.

I am thankful for that. By the time the season starts we will have already seen the guys take on two P5 teams, a lesser opponent where we can clear the bench, and a team scrimmage. We will have lots of stats and data to obsess over until the regular season tips off.
-
I think we will have a good chance to beat Creighton. -Creighton's duo of Thomas/Foster is tough. Better than our Taylor/Palmer duo. But other than that i think were better in every other place. -Glynn is better than whoever they roll out at PG. By what maragin is TBD. -Jordy and Isaac will be better than their front court of Hegner and Krampelj. -Bench will be close but i give the nod to us since we have experience and talent while they have talent but it is inexperienced. -However, home court will be huge for them.
-
I dont think they both redshirt. How many kids has Miles redshirted since hes been here? Nick Fuller is the only one that comes to mind. No way i see us getting two in one year. Now the counter arguement to that is we are deeper than in the past but i just dont see it happening. Maybe im wrong. My guess is Thor redshirts. Nana plays and his time increases as he adjusts to what it takes to be a Big Ten college basketball player.
-
My thing with the freshmen (specifically Thomas Allen) is i thought they would be higher up in the rotation. I dont know how early he came off the bench but minutes played he was last of the 11 players thay saw the floor. Not surprised Thor didnt see any minutes in a game like setting. Nana was a little surprising.

Creighton lost to minnesota by 12 in secret scrimmage. 91-79 i think
-
-Unimpressed by the freshmen. They logged a total of 5 minutes (all by Thomas Allen). Hopefully we will see some more of them in the next couple games/scrimmages. -Jack was solid. Ill stick by what i said, he's not getting benched this year. -Duby had 4 fouls in 11 minutes thats worrisome. Which leads me to my next point, Borchardt will get some meaningful minutes this year. -Palmer comparison to Terran looked like it might have some accuracy to it. -Evan and Jordy put up good numbers for the minutes they played. -Anyone know why Glynn played so much? 32 min i think -Anton Gill was a very nice surprise from what i expected. -Good performance considering 2 of your predicted top 5 players (Copeland amd Roby) had poor showings.

Too bad we couldnt do a triangular between us, creighton, and uno where all proceeds go to charity.

Just saw this. This is in addition to the "secret" scrimmage right? -
Robin did a couple interviews with Jack and Glynn that are free to view if anyone wants to post the links. Good stuff

khoock replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Wow. I thought earlier this month it was 50/50 us and syracuse. Now we are out of the picture and Washington is the favorite?? -

I dont think the new AD will matter at all when Miles has a 17-19 win season this year. -
Regardless, theres no need to be an a-hole. Especially to a new poster.

I have him around 13ish minutes. I actually might have him as our leader. I dont have my newest stats i was tinkering with in front of me. I know I have him, Jordy, and Isaiah all averaging 1+ block.
