  1. My predictions are listed below (rank of Robins in parentheses) -Points: Glynn Watson (James Palmer 4th) -Rebounds: Jordy Tshimanga -Assists: Glynn Watson -Steals: Glynn Watson -Blocks: Jordy Tshimanga (Duby second)
  2. Money on Roby having a big impact? Nana taking Jacks spot? Or Both?
  3. Possibly two freshmen centers in one class. Im assuming one of them has to be ready to play while the other redshirts. Are either Thamba or Hieman capable of playing the 4? I guess i didnt think of Roberts with this offer. My initial thought was maybe Hieman flipping to Creighton since Creighton is now in the market for a big.
  4. If someone would like to post a link to that, it would be appreciated.
  5. Kinda what i was thinking too.
  6. 8 would be tough imo. That would also go against many predictions of a deep team and no one player playing heavy minutes.
  7. As a competitor, Gill isnt gonna say that he is worse than before or not the same player. And as a coach, there would be absolutely no benefit for Miles to crush Gill's confidence by saying he will be a nonfactor. Im not sold on Gill bouncing back from this energy. Which adds another storyline to watch during the upcoming scrimmages and exhibition.
  8. No. I guess i shouldnt have said "last" spot. Eight of the top 9 is pretty clear to me (Watson, Palmer, Copeland, Tshimanga, Roby, McVeigh, Allen, Okeke). I think all eight of those guys are playing in every game if they are healthy/ not in trouble. My last decision was pretty much between Akenten or Taylor for time at the 2 and 3. Originally I had Nana taking that position with Taylor on the outside looking in, albeit a lesser role than what i haven now given Taylor. Essentially i have plugged Taylor into where i had Akenten and increased his role in that spot. I think Taylor has accepted his role on the team very well and is ready to accel in it. Add that with Miles tendency to rely on experienced players and that is why i made the switch.
  9. Making some updates for my thoughts on starters and minutes. PG --> G. Watson 30min, T. Allen 10min SG --> E. Taylor 22min, J. Palmer 10min, T. Allen 8min SF --> J. Palmer 15min, J. McVeigh 20min, I. Roby 5min PF --> I. Copeland 27min, I. Roby 13min C --> J. Tshimanga 23min, D. Okek 13min, I. Roby 4min This amounts too: STARTERS -Glynn Watson 30 min -Evan Taylor 22 min -James Palmer 25 min -Isaac Copeland 27 min -Jordy Tshimanga 23 min ROTATION -Isaiah Roby 22 min -Jack McVeigh 20 min -Thomas Allen 18 min -Duby Okeke 13 min BENCH (will see minutes but not part of regular rotation) -Anton Gill -Nana Akenten -Tanner Borchardt REDSHIRT (hopefully) -Thorir Thorbjarnarson Notes: -Really torn between Nana and Taylor for the last spot in what i believe will be a 9 man rotation. But since Miles is known for giving the nod to experience i will go with Taylor. - Nana will have a role similiar to Jeriah Horne did last year. He will play but his PT will range from providing a spark to mop up duty. -Isaiah will see minutes at alot of positions and cause matchup problems along the way. Really looking for him to take on that jack of all trades identity. Cant wait for the public scrimmage, "secret" scrimmage, and exhibition game to get here so we can have some concrete evidence.
  10. I think just bc of depth, we will be equally as good as last year. Once Gill went down we played over half of a season with only 3 gaurds, all of which were logging heavy minutes ranging from 25-35 minutes every game. This year we have one proven gaurd and some unknowns. Glynn is at the very least a good, middle of the pack Big Ten gaurd. But can he take the next step and become a top 5 PG in the league? Can Miles pull out another miraculous transformation on a transfer who didnt do much at his previous school in James Palmer? Can Gill bounce back enough to be productive at this level? How quickly does Thomas Allens talent translate to the big boy level? Will Evan Taylor be able to be more than a glue and grind player? My take is we hit on 3.5 of those 5 question marks.
  11. The only thing that concerns me (about playing right away) is that isnt he a similiar build as Heiman? 6'10 205lbs ish. I could be totally remembering it wrong. However, im sure at the moment hes much more skilled then Heiman.
  12. Article said Arizona and USC were his top two choices until they had assistant coaches who were named in the scandal. Not sure if that answers your question at all.
  13. Knew it had something to do with a 7
  14. Announcement today right?
  15. I dont see Tanners value being very high this year. But he will be a nice "Plan B" sort of guy next year imo. Jordy will need a backup and theres a good chance Brady Heiman is a still a walking stick figure when he gets on campus. Just a thought. But having a a big bodied, strong practice player to bang around with Jordy and Duby all year will be extremely beneficial.
  16. Main reason i dont see Tanner Borchardt getting any minutes on a healthy Nebrasketball team this year. If Roby can slide into the 5 and be an effective mismatch (which i think he can) that about elimanates Tanners chances.
  17. Miles forgot to mention Malcolm Laws and nobody called him out on it.
  18. All i know is my excitement is getting to unbareable levels. I've been pretty relaxed with the season approaching but now im about bouncing off the walls thinking about it. Chalk it up to practice starting, football stinking it up, and my Chicago Bulls being projected as one of the worst teams in the NBA this upcoming season.
  19. Hope this is true. Iron sharpens iron i think the saying goes. Even if he turns out to not earn much playing time, the better he is means the person that beat him out had to work that much harder.
  20. Hate to admit that i am one of those who had reduced his role to 9 to 11 minutes a game type of guy. It is starting to look like i was wrong. Fortunately for us, we wont have to wait too much longer to find out.
  21. Highlights i found interesting: -Borchardt is a dude!!! Could definetly see playing time. Which i dont see as such a bad thing. I know everybody hates creighton but once their PG went down last year they had a walk on splitting time there and still had a decent season. -Palmer can play multiple positions: 1, 2, 3. -Miles thinks having older more experienced guys in Okeke and Copeland has really helped Roby and Tshimanga develop. -Glynn feels like this is his teamcand is expected to play/act like it. Coach says he is on the same level as All Big Ten selections Petteway (2x), Shields, and Webster. -Miles expects Copeland to be the number 1 or 2 scorer and top 3 rebounder on the team. -We can small: Roby at the 5, Copeland at the 4, Palmer at the 3 plus two gaurds. We can play big: a center, Copeland and Roby at the forward spots, Palmer at the 2, and a PG -When Watson and Taylor are on the same team in practice they "demolish" the other team. Other gaurds provide quality depth and good shooting. -Anton has bounced back better than anticipated. -Jordys procedure was more a preventative procedure than i necessary one.
  22. Not sure if this is the right thread for this post so feel free to move it.... but say kids from the schools involved in the huge college basketball decide to transfer bc of the huge sanctions that are going to come down on said schools. And these same kids are not thought to be linked to the scandal. Is there a chance they would be eligible immediately (as in not have to sit out the standard one year that is required when transferring)?
  23. I doubt any of the players participating at the rec center were going balls to the wall like they do at practice. My guess is they were just having fun and messing around.
  24. Also now that the offseason thread is being killed we need a new one for in season stuff bc... basketball season is FINALLY under way!!!
  25. All scholarships players (except Thor) and Borchardt all get a mention in the article Lee Bo says Nana swishes the most 3's he has ever seen in a while.
