So you think Copeland will play some 5?
-
Anybody know when heights and weights will be updated? Perfomance index results released (i think thats what its called)?
-
Robin has now said that Thor will be a factor this year and now that Tanner will play this year and you can book it! Now those are some bold predictions. Many of us have long said that Tanner is a very high quality walkon and i for one was sad to see him not get a chance to go through off season workouts his first go around. It will be interesting to see how this pans out for many reasons: -injuries -foul trouble -Jordy not developing as much as we expect -Duby not being able to hold his own in the Big Ten like we hope I had us playing small with Copeland or Roby at the 5 for spurts of the game, if any of the above conditions were to happen. But Tanner may very well be able to get some serious/important minutes this season as an emergency backup. Just another reason i cant wait for this season to start. GBR

Borchardt looks good physically
-
I dont think anybody is debating that. He seems to have the potential to play at a P5 school. Im just trying to get an idea of how much he will contribute this upcoming season.
-
So sounds like he will be a bench player this year. Any chance he redshirts?
-
Isnt the game @ Ark St??
-
Anybody heard anything how hes performing in practice? What kind of role he might play? Personally im not expecting much out of Thor his first year.
-
Im not nearly as worried as some are. 12 of Arkansas States points werent the defense's fault: -Safety -Punt Return -FG where ASU player purposely takes his helmet off to get the clock stopped which allows them to set up a FG Also think Diaco called a pretty vanilla game.
-
Hoping for better, healthier, and improved weapons (WR /OL) Recievers worry me with only 4 healthy scholarship ones and a handful of unproven walkons.
-
Im gonna say 9-3 (6-3). Second place finish in the division.
-
The only problem with that is next years schedule is brutal. v. Colorado @ Michigan @ Wisconsin @ Northwestern @ Ohio State @ Iowa Very well could be better next year but have a worse record bc of the schedule.

McVeigh Playing in the World University Games
khoock replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I guess my thinking has been (when Copeland is eligible) Miles will scrap the 3 gaurd look and go with some type of combo of McVeigh/Roby/Copeland at the 3 and 4 spots. I say that bc i think Jack, Zay, and Copeland >>> then Palmer, ET, and Nana (the gaurds i think would most likely play at that the 3) Now, if Miles does stick with the 3 gaurd line up i could see Jack struggling to find minutes as Roby and Copeland would take up all the 4 minutes. Guess i never thought of it that way. -

Whenever Copeland's eligibility begins, i think Jack will be the back up at the 3 and 4 to Roby and Copeland. Which will still result in 20ish minutes a game. -

Thank you Norm. Ive seen a few ppl label Jack as the odd man out of the rotation (some even as a bench warmer) and i just cant fathom that at all. 1. He averaged almost 8 a game for us last year 2. He possesses a skill we desperately need more of = 3pt shooting 3. He has the right attitude and mindset to maximize what he's good at and minimize his weaknesses. Unlike, lets say, AW3. 4. You cant teach height and length Now im not saying he will be a first team all american by any means. But i think were getting a steady dose of Jack McTrey this season. -
The development of Jack and Zay will go along way in determining how good i feel about the first half of the season (if Copeland has to sit out). If Roby is a legit Big Ten player and Jack can be a competent back up, or vice versa, then im feeling pretty good. If that turns out the same plus we get lucky and Copeland is eligible for game 1 even better.

Tyronn Lue is the new Head Coach of the Cavs
khoock replied to AuroranHusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Good move by the Cavs imo. Kyrie was gonna leave anyway and they definetly maxed out his potential with this trade. -Isaiah Thomas is a bonafide scorer and a lunch pail guy. Hopefully he comes back 100% from his hip injury. -Jae Crowder is an underrated two way player in the league. He gives them good depth off the bench. -Potential top 5 pick in next years loaded draft. -the big guy they picked up has huge boom or bust potential. If he turns out to be a good role player at the least thats just gravy. -
Petteway and Shavon would both start no doubt. As for the rest of that years team... i'd say they would have a hard time cracking the rotation.
-
If he enjoys it and is dedicated to it let him do it and find whatever is the best fit for you and your family. His skillset or potential shouldnt really matter as long as he loves it and takes it seriously...

Notes for ppl who cant/ didnt want to watch it. -Last practice was their best one of the summer -Glynn did well at the adidas event he was at and his team won the championship. However, did tweak an ankle on the last day -New comers are adjusting well and fitting in -Unlike last year, there is good competion for spots and playing time -Everybody is full go minus Anton -Miles thinks we will have another top 5 non conf schedule -Lots of takes from Miles on the schedule Think thats about it.
-
Average D1 minutes played per eligible player on roster during Miles tenure: •2012-13: 583 min = 15-18 (5-13) •2013-14: 420 min = 19-13 (11-7) •2014-15: 801 min = 13-18 (5-13) •2015-16: 604 min = 16-18 (6-12) •2016-17: 523 min = 12-19 (6-12) •2017-18: 851 min = TBD There ya have it. *Averages include incoming freshmen and tranfer's minutes played at other D1 schools*

Ill look at some more previous seasons later.
-
Looks like were much more experienced this year
-
19-12 (9-9) Take it to the bank.
-
Rank of our current team's D1 experience in ~ minutes played: 1. Isaac Copeland 1847 min 2. Glynn Watson 1807 min 3. Evan Taylor 1513 min 4. Duby Okeke 1401 min 5. Jack McVeigh 1267 min 6. James Palmer 900 min 7. Anton Gill 634 min 8. Isaiah Roby 456 min 9. Jordy Tshimanga 388 min T10. Nana Akenten 0 min Thomas Allen Thorir Thorbjarnarson I think its an interesting stat to look at. Wonder how it stacks up against previous years? Anyone care to look?
