Thomas Allen and Anton Gill are both questionable for tomorrow's game.

uneblinstu’s postgame chatter: Vol 10; Ed. 2 - North Texas

Random, less important question: is Costello gonna redshirt? With Nana and Thor playing and 3 other walk ons, we have our 5 players for garbage time. With Costello's ability to shoot the 3, I wouldnt mind giving him a RS year to work on strength, agility, and explosiveness. Never know what it could turn into. -

My box score notes -Bummed to have burned both Nana and Thor's redshirts. Would have really liked to RS one. -We need Jordy to get full speed. Having a player his caliber able to play 20-25 minutes is the the difference between one or two more non-conf wins/losses imo. -Roby stuffed the stat sheet again. Really think he has a chance to average 1+ in the five statistical categories. -Copeland is struggling to shoot the ball (1-7 yikes). I think he has only hit one three between the preseason and first two games. Glad to see him be able to contribute in other ways tho. 8 reb, 2 asst, 4 blks, 8 FTA. -Glynn, Taylor, and James were solid. Palmer played better than last game. But has yet to be as efficient as we saw him in the preseason. -Duby played his role well. Really hope he is working on FT shooting bc i can sense "Hack-a-Duby" coming at some point in the season. -Tanner got on some action. Still thankful to have him as an emergency player. -Hope Allen is okay. The rest of the week will be good tests! Road game against a middle of the pack Big East team and a TOUGH UND coming to PBA. -

Was that game as hard to watch as it was to listen to?? My god, i listened to it for about 10 min in the car (mid second half)and turned it off bc the refs were calling fouls every possession. Had to be 60 fouls called combined. That being said, we're not gonna get 45 free throw attempts @ St. Johns so they better start shooting it better. Nice to be 2-0. GBR -
HHCC Game #02 - vs. North Texas (Nov. 13, 7:00 PM CST)

Nu 77 North Texas 63 -
I was worried about this game. And EIU showed that I should've been. Glad we squeaked it out. This will be the toughest non P5 school we face aside from maybe North Dakota. -Zay had a monster game: 11 pts 13 reb 6 blk. I think he will stuff the stat sheet all season long in a variety of ways -Palmer's worst performance that we have seen from him. Probably first game jitters -Watson was clutch as we needed and I expected him to be -Taylor gave us what i expect. Maybe even a little more offensively -Still trying to figure out Copeland. Seems to have had a solid game. -Jordy rebounded well (11 reb in 20 min) not much else -Not a good game/match up for our posts -Not sure what to think of Jack based off the box score doesnt seem like he did much. -Thomas Allen (6 pts 2 assts) with a solid outing -Gill, Thor, and Nana DNP -FT were a concern but not overly worried. Taylor was 70-80 percent from the stripe last year amd Palmer shot well in the preseason. Glad to be back and undefeated. GBR!

My hope with Thor and Nana is that they realize Anton and Evan are seniors and next year there will be 35-40 minutes opening up at the 2 and 3.

Northwood VS. Nebraska (Exhibition) Game Thread

Anybody know if there is a full box score available? Robin's doesnt include stls and blks. -
Hopefully Iowa St and Miss St's rankings are some what accurate bc that means we beat two decent teams!
-
Just to clarify: are you saying Trueblood thought he was a D1 prospect or you thought he was some type of D1 prospect?
-
Shhhhhh. Timmy will have a statue outside PBA after this season.
-
May not be the appropriate thread, but last year i remember we did a team draft with two captains. Voted and debated on what team would win if they ran it back 10x. Thought that might be a fun thread to start now since we have two box scores against P5 teams and an open practice/scrimmage. If anyone wants to get that going feel free!

So Mike Riley is 19-15 at Nebraska so far. Take out the end of season #1 and beginning of season #2 (10-1 stretch) and he is 9-14 in the rest of his games. Even more telling is that within the 9-14 record is a 6-13 record against P5 teams. *I included the BYU loss bc i believe the Big Ten counts them when scheduling one P5 opponent for your non-con. Aside from one hot stretch that overlapped between two seasons, he has a poor coaching record. Im not saying fire him but imo he has to reach 8 wins (including *hopefully* bowl game) for me to have no fits about him returning.
-
Did Roby play for both teams during the scrimmage? In Robin's write up, under the scoring section for each team, he has Roby listed as scoring 2 for White and 3 for Red. Not sure if its just an error.
-
Is Thor possibly ahead of Nana in terms of playing time? Seems like he had a somewhat impressive showing
-
I for one think we have really good walk ons. We already know Tanner will contribute to some degree this year. And if Costello can find a niche as a knock down 3pt specialist maybe he can build a role a few years down the road. Also, Trueblood is a good player for a walkon. Leads me to a question: who is better Costello or Trueblood? Are they similiar players? If not, how do their games differ?
-
What were the starting 5's for each team?
-
I would just like to say I am thankful for this site bc i know when i get off of work tonight there will be plenty of stats, observations, and hot takes for me to nerd out over. ?
-
So who is in charge of creating and keeping track of a box score tomorrow, for those of us who cannot attend??? ??
-
Hopefully that is where being able to go 11 deep helps prevent us from fatiguing during that stretch.
-
Miles has to have a good reputation with RS transfers. Terran and AW3 were both All-Big Ten to some degree. Walt had a solid time here despite his issues. James Palmer seems poised for a good year. Isaac is predicted to be a Top 3 scorer and rebounder for us. Shoot Miles could probably use Evan Taylor to gain some leverage on the JUCO scene.
-
But it looks like we could see those 11 faces pretty regularly during the season based off of matchups, practice performances, and injuries.
