  1. I feel many make the mistake you are dean. The heat are indeed far superior athletes than those guys you mention. Not even remotely close. And going to the Norris cole comparison card is absurd. He isn't even their better point guard. Charmers way more athletic and a good solid defensive point. Common mistake many people that think old school basketball is better than now. It isn't. Was easier to assemble a team with more good players on it then. But the league now is far superior. Way more great athletes and great players. How many great foreign players are there now? That alone is enough to show how much better the league is today. You are a smart guy which makes it surprising you think the league used to have better players. Like I said many other old schoolers think so to. It just is not correct in Any way, shape or form.
  2. Without taking the time to watch the video late night, I respect your opinion. Do you believe he showed talent to be a good one on this small sample size video clip? Seems you have been cautiously optimistic on him, rather than optimistic like many. Curious what your thoughts are on him at this time. You can PM me if you do not want to speak in public on the matter. Thanks for the great contributions Norm.
  3. I feel somehow you are unable to grow your evaluation with the way the game has changed for the better this day and age. Such a far more athletic game now. That is why people are less "skilled" as many believe. It has proven over time good athletes and defense win. In the end that is how the Heat won tonight. Great swarming athletes led by Bron, Wade and Bosh. They would completely overwhelm these clubs you are talking about.
  4. Nba is easily my favorite sport. Level of play and depth of the league easily at an all time high. Those that think it was better back in the old days are badly mistaken. Possibly more fun to watch for some that need offense. But don't mistake more fun to watch for better basketball. Extremely popular sport but not as much in Nebraska as there is no franchise anywhere close.

  6. There is a good chance Nebraska won't be favored in the game I don't think you are correct on that assessment. I hope you are though as we will win the game.
  7. This is stupid and I don't understand how I'm supposed to be excited about this. This game would be a complete joke had FGCU not won some games this year in the tournament. Nobody would know who they are (just like nobody knew who they were 2 years ago when they came here) had they not won those NCAA tournament games. Quite frankly, a lot of our newer season ticket holders who may just be casual basketball fans and may not have watched every game of the NCAA tournament, will probably need an explanation as to who this FGCU team is. Plus Doc was able to pull the W against them two years ago, and nobody said nice things, so Miles better come away with a win. A few things about your post. 1. FGCU did win some games in the tournament so it obviously should be judged based on that. 2. The casual basketball fan needs to have a lot of things explained to them. 3. FGCU is a hell of a lot better than they were back then. I think it is important to win the game. This is a game we should win against an interesting foe.
  8. Actually, it's not. Your opinion is not necessarily everyone's reality. Actually it is. I am the only one that knows what is hard for me to fathom. And people considering Creighton as important as the Big 10 is most certainly hard for me to fathom. No one is considering Creighton as important as the Big 10. Doesn't mean it's not relevant to us though. Not sure where you were, but there were certainly people saying that a thread about this departure belonged as it is the same thing as the thread about our conference departures.
  9. Don't think you actually do. I could care less where this goes...I was just being sarcastic in response to the thread the other day. I was fine before this was moved. Wrong. I most certainly do not think a thread about Grant Gibbs belongs on the main forum of a Husker basketball forum. Doesn't mean I am right, but that is most certainly what I think.

  11. Certainly agree with NU student.
  12. I consider big ten events as ridiculously more relevant to us than creighton. Not even a conversation IMO. Hard to fathom someone thinking otherwise.
  13. No way I would ever start a thread about creighton here either. And if someone cannot understand the difference between discussing our conference and its departures versus creighton departures they need to us a little more thought.
  14. Interesting. I could take it or leave it, but as a fan I think take it would be better. But maybe we were not extended an invite. Would have liked to see Talley and Ubel play another time or two. And this season would have not been bastardizing the program by playing in this thing.
  15. Talley. Amazing how he was able to completely transform his game into a point guard that could get us into a reasonable offensive flow a lot of the time.
  16. And they would be playing for the 4th day also.
  17. More favorable matchup is Michigan I think. They can be a little lazy at times and can take some stupid shots at times. And they aren't awesome inside.
  18. We are going to need Craft to shoot poorly today. We gotta pick our poison some, and I am hopeful we lay off him.
  19. Off season stuff. Lets worry about us until it is over Norm. But I agree with it.
  20. Miles uses timeouts well in my view.
  21. I am not one to pile on Doc, as I liked him, but holy smokes can you imagine our level of offensive output this year under him. And we would not have defended the arc well at all. So glad we didn't get the S. Sioux kid.
  22. You got it. Best wishes.
  23. 5.5 dogs is the early line
  24. The situation that unfolded is easily the best that could have as far as the tournament goes.
  25. We are probably better off losing today as far as the tourney goes. But screw Iowa. If we lose today we pry play Purdue. Win today we probably get Iowa.
