Shields looks like the type that could blossom into an all Big 10 type player down the road. Rivers still needs to work on that shot of his. He has the nice long body that can be great on defense. He needs to become a more reliable shooter. Perhaps I have less confidence than most in him shooting because I don't like how it looks.

Couple things work in Parkers favor, though. First, he should be healthy by then, he's not now. Plus, he'll be the only true point guard on the team. Gallegos, Webster and Biggs all are more suited for the 2 spot. There will be minutes for Parker if he can get the team into and out of the offense. Don't need a true point if you have multiple combo guards. I don't think Parker is good enough unfortunately for this level of play. You have got to have perimiter guys on the court that are threats to score.

Wait. Do you really think Purdue will make the NCAA tournament this year? They're 9-8 overall, with an RPI of 119, and a 63 SOS. They were 6-6 in the noncon, with the best noncon win coming against a team with an RPI of 146. In combined road/neutral games, they are 2-5. I realize they have a home win against Illinois but that win is offset with a really bad loss against RPI 226 Eastern Washington. They would seemingly have to go on a mega, mega run in conference to even make the bubble it would seem. Purdue would be in second place in the Mo Valley That seems rather unlikely. Creighton and Wichita State are locks for the NCAA tournament right now and combined lost a total of two nonconference games while Purdue lost 6, some of which were to really bad teams. Either way, your response seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the discussion of whether or not Purdue will go to the NCAA tourney. And you muddling up the damn thread with your trolling and discusssion about shitty Mo Valley ball in relation to Big 10 ball, has even less to do with the discussion of the game report card.

I am with you CWG, but I am numbed enough by how bad we are, that it doesn't bother me as much as most of the seasons. I am the ultimated competitor and every year for me it is all about making the dance. I live or die during every game most seasons, as it could be the difference in us making the dance or not at the end of the year. Not this season though, so I can move on more easily at least. The tourney I will take the loss hard, as we still have that path to the dance when that thing starts. Until then, it is simply about finding the right combination to make us the most difficult out possible in that thing for me.

We have had to help a lot tonight, so you are not always going to have bodies on bodies. There are a lot of things that go into rebounding. It isn't always as simple as "we suck at boxing out" Won't argue that but you can fix some of that by putting a body on somebody.

We have not got our will broken tonight. That is a positive sign.
