  1. Love the News Years Eve game with Indy. Dont love the schedule poster with an NU player who has his tongue sticking out.
  2. Pleased. Miles biggest recruit. Now Morrow.
  3. Great day for recruiting news. Just what the doctor ordered. Morrow has to be watching!
  4. All we need is one really decent recruit each season. Plenty of time left. Hope we can nail Morrow.
  5. Top 200 player in the country. Hes a niche player that can be used in multiple ways. Was also getting offers in football as a TE. Iowa is said to have been close to offering as early as today per BR and other teams were on the verge as well. Extremely bright young man and seems to fit the mold of person Miles has gotten lately with guys like Fuller, Smith, etc. OWH says others schools were involved....Drake,Brown,Indiana St, Northern Iowa and Leigh. Football offer from Iowa St. Also says his Twitter account shows him with his arm around Mark Mangino. I guess he does have a big wing span!
  6. I think it may have ended or is close to ending, this week or last.
  7. I'm concerned, but no panic yet. Really don't think Miles is going to be around here long if he cant recruit. He'll head out while the getting is good and find a job with a better basketball player population. I think A White is a pipe dream. Really hope Miles can sign Morrow. Recruits may leave Lincoln muttering,"Dude, be a fool."
  8. As see it, NU has the better practice facility, CU the better arena.
  9. As i understand it, if we dont fill the two remaining scholrships this off-season we will have have five scholarships to fill in 2015. And that assumes no one transfers. The NU stafff has to spend the entire summer, on the ground, establishing meaningful relationships and reviewing talent. Cornish hard to figure, turns down soon-to-be-cost- of-attendance money to attend a mid-major.
  10. Kreklow walked on and turned down a schollie. When can NU have that type of good fortune? Im going back on the window.
  11. It appears Kreklow turns down schollies and walks on at Creighton.
  12. Keep the door open for several more weeks. Perhaps something willl fall our way. Smith can be Plan B. Meanwhile start settting players up for 2015. We HAVE to hit next season early.
  13. The concessions I purchased were reasonably priced and tasty. It will be interessting to see which concessions are around in two or three seasons. The service was fine. However, I didn't see all concessions. If the service was slow for some, it is most likely because of the start up and volunteer groups working the stands. It may take several games to weed out the ineffective volunteer groups and re-train or replace them. The inner arena, lower bowl, had great sight lines. The upper bowl most likely was a drag, but thats true of any 15k+arena. I got there early for the game, as a result I didn't have any problem parking. Paid eight bucks to park, which is reasonable. The university performed a much-needed clean up on the in-game court contests. Some of the concourses seemed tight. The tightness became more pronounced when concessions were close by. If the horse shoe on the upper bowl becomes closed the increased seating may make some, if not all, of concouses a bad, bad dream. All in all, the CenturyLink and it's surrounds are still the superior arena and location. Omaha basicaly had a blank piece of canvas when they designed the arena and the nearby area. Lincoln didn't have that advantage .
  14. In the brochure handed out during the pubic tours of the Pinnacle Arena it was stated parking near the top of parking garages during well-attended events one could expect a 20 to 25 minute delay leaving the parking garage. No mention of the flat land parking on the other side of the arena. They need time to iron out the wrinkles on the new product. Some folks need to work or go to school the next day. Never a positive being tied up in a garage or traffic. But its great for the bar business. How long will the garages stay open after an event ends?
  15. DUI is one thing. Leaving the scene is another. The penalty, for sure, wasn't too harsh.
  16. Dont have a problem with Miles rolling the dice on an international recruit, Webster. Sometimes you hit, other times you don't. Its not like he had a ton of stateside D-1 impact players beating on his door to play here.
  17. A significant hire! Thank you NU administration for the funding!!!!
  18. Crieghton got a L-ville transfer, C Millard, a few years ago. Marginal player.
  19. There's better, there's worse. I'll take it. The students will be geeked.
  20. Unmoved by Miles recruiting, but will not take the gloves off on him. Next season I expect higher quality recruiting. On the other hand I am disapppointed in his ability to recruit and keep ast coaches. Everyone though Chin was going to be the man when it came to recruiting, then he landed an on-campus position but couldn't stick around for the first practice before he leaves for a mid-major ast job. Then Johnson leaves for Minny after he supposelduy made some sort of a three-year pledge. Some march out the closer-to-home or alma-mater argument. But it doesn't hold water. As someone pointed out earlier during the spring recruiting process, every player has a home town. Its not an acceptable excuse for not signning a player. The same applies to ast coaches and alma maters. If Miles can't seal the deal on coaches it isn't reasonable to expect him to seal the deal with recruits.
  21. Its huge for a school that has struggled to bring in talent for many decades. TheKamdyMan thinks a snail could have recruited S Mohamed to UCLA because his father wanted him to play there. All the NU staff has do do is find a probable NBA first rould pick whose father wants him to play for Nebraska and then send a snail to sign him up. Our luck would be the kid is probably be like most kids who seldom listen to their parents and would end up playing somewhere else. Buying a snail is a lot cheaper than an ast coach's salary.
  22. Wouldn't NU know Herbert had surgery before they brought him in for an offical visit? Don't know Herbert, obviously, but can't believe he wouldn't mention the shoulder surgery.
  23. I'd settle for 80% as good as advertised.
  24. I say take him. Also, say take the father as a coach as someone suggested earlier, if he has meaningful contacts and clout. Not opposed to over-the-pond players.
