  1. We would be in year 2 of the Riley regime. We would have gone 9-4 last year, winning the bowl game but losing to Iowa. This year, we would currently be 5-4, beating both Illinois and Purdue. We would have a serviceable freshman qb sitting out as a redshirt waiting for the chance to run Langsdorf"s offense, whatever the hell that is. We would be trying to recruit, mad as hell, linemen on both sides of the ball. And last but not least, we would be recruiting defensive backs faster than Andy Means.
  2. Right now, 20 per cent of the Husker 2 deep roster is filled by walk-ons or former walk-ons. That tells me recruiting for the last 4 or 5 years has had many more misses than they have hits. I think overall job performance is what makes or breaks anyone in any job, athletic directors included.
  3. RIP to Cory Wells of Three Dog Night fame. This song seems to fit this thread.
  4. It's an app for your phone to veiw HHC. I can't seem to find it. Is it above or below the rotary dial?
  5. I wouldn't go to Cleveland until Three Dog Night, ELO, The Moody Blues, Deep Purple and The Guess Who are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. What a frickin' joke....
  6. Hold up-- Ms. Union is visiting Nebraska for the first time in a long while, and somehow APPLEBEE'S makes her restaurant lineup? Am I the only one dumbfounded by this? She hasn't discovered Conlee's yet......
  7. I got an incentive for you all. Whoever goes to Scheels and buys some jerky today or tomorrow, give Kayla your nom de plume and I'll get you a jar of cip's salsa. That's worth a drive from Columbia, MO.
  8. Pardon the hijack, but if anyone likes jerky and is in Lincoln today or tomorrow, we (Lucky Brand Jerky) have a booth out at Scheels out by Hwy 2. If our sales numbers are good, they will put us in all their stores. I can't be there, but my niece Kayla and Jaysie are manning the booth. They're much easier on the eyes than I am anyway. Well I've never been to Maine, but I kinda like the music.
  9. In today's age, probably teeth marks. Not that there's anything wrong with that.....
  10. I wear my averystrong t shirt nearly every night. Old man pajama top, baby! You hang in there, kid!
  11. Don't tell me Standhardinger is lurking the parks of Madrid....
  12. If you want to take a stroll down memory lane, check out Sam McKewon's blog from June 11th. It takes some time to read, but it goes into depth about Nebraska's move to the B1G 5 years ago. I had forgotten what a weasel Dan Beebe was, and how much I despise Texas....
  13. Here's the link. I happened to be button pushing on the radio Thursday and Kietzman (sp)? on 810 WHB was making some noise over Bill Snyder's off-hand remark on ESPN about getting NU back into the Big12. No frickin' way....
  14. I think it's a reference to Lance Armstrong.
  15. If only the Butler A.D. job had opened up in July of 2000.....
  16. Out here west of Lincoln, we call you a city slicker that sucks at grammar....
  17. KMAN1.121 KMAN, of course, is short for KearneyMan. 1.1 to 1 is your ratio of down votes to number of posts. I bet that number stays static....
  18. Seth will be tending bar Friday night. He likes the tips.....
  19. Well, bring some of your Lexington friends and show us how to cook a steak. Or, how to cut one.....
  20. This is a self-serving post for all you grillers in our HHC family. June 5th & 6th is Hampton Booster Days. (For all you geographically challenged who've lived in Omaha all your lives, Hampton is exit 338. Just west of the end of the world). On Saturday, June 6th, we're having a couple of BBQ contests. Both contests are for amateurs. What I've envisioned this turning into, is the Triple A League of BBQ. My friends at the Greater Omaha BBQ Society are helping us put it on. Here's the info from their site. Just wanted to give you all a head's up. Lots of other activities going on both days as well. Street dance Saturday in front of Conlee's featuring Lost and Found. Kids activities, a parade, antique tractor show, antique poster talking Husker Hoops with anyone who will listen.... beer garden, the radio station out of York, (or New York, not sure which) doing live remotes from 2 to 4 on Saturday. How much more fun can a person have? If you have nothing going on, I'd love to see any and all of you guys.
  21. Thanks, everyone for the warm words and prayers. You all mean a lot to me. Last night I forgot to state the main reason why I posted this. I truly consider everyone here as part of my family. I've met many on this board, in fact, when we did a meet and greet at Barry's a few years back, those in attendance met Seth. He went with me and was very impressed how nice everyone was. We have something very special here. It's cool we all got together around a program that notoriously sucks. But, just like Seth's, their best days are still ahead! I'll give updates from time to time. Potentially, down the road, he might need a bone marrow transplant. How cool would it be if his match was Christian Standhardinger.
