  1. Didn't know basket weaving had final exams.
  2. I know this isn't Wagner, but music does soothe the soul....
  3. Silverbacked, you think you're sad, take a walk in my shoes. I wrested away the game thread from Bugeaters, and the Huskers are 2-2 since with the two losses being their worst in conference play this season. It's not working the way it's supposed to. Have no fear, though. Thursday's thread will be a game changer.....
  4. I'm really disappointed in the effort tonight.
  5. When the going gets tough.... We win by 10.
  6. Well, here we go. Illinois comes to town. The question has been raised is this the Huskers biggest game of the year? It sure could be. I'll go out on a limb and say it is the most pivotal game of the year. We beat the Illini, we stay out of the play in round of the tourney and have momentum going into Minnesota. Drop this one and the possibility of losing out to end the season becomes larger and the speculation for a coaching change comes front and center. It's really cool a lot of former players are back this weekend and the 86-87 team is being featured. That team showed a ton of character accepting a new head coach and making it to the NIT Final Four. In early 86, Billy Ocean had a hit which that team personified and this current one needs to down the stretch to become the team that we all know they are. It's time to climb any mountain, guys. GBR!
  7. Probably won't happen, but it would be great to see Danny come back for this.
  8. Yeah, but Mrs. Cip isn't so understanding.....
  9. Sorry, I always get my 6's and 9's mixed up.
  10. Completely agree jimmy. Lose to Illinois, and all the haters who hate will be out in full force. Win, and even if you lose at Minnesota, the pitchforks will be left in the barn because you still can beat Michigan at home on Tai Webster night. Now, not to hijack a thread, but if I could talk about Bill Jackman for a moment. I had no idea NU is honoring Nee's 1989 squad. I'm assuming Handy Johnson isn't pulling my leg (all people from Superior are of the highest quality...). Bill Jackman is one of my favorite Huskers ever. Coming from a small town, well I guess that's relative, Grant is huge compared to Hampton, I thought it was cool he went to Duke. Big University on the East Coast! Although he went there before Coach K became a legend, it didn't matter. He was a great talent. When he became homesick, as many of us do, and came back to Lincoln, I was pumped! This guy will be the piece Moe Iba needs to get NU to the next level. Instead, what happens? Iba turns him into a shelter pet. He absolutely destroyed his confidence. Danny restored a lot of it. Jackman had a nice senior season. I hope he is there Sunday. Now, let me return you to your regurlarly scheduled thread.
  11. Maybe Bill Jackman can give the pregame locker room speech.
  12. Shapes of things regarding Husker Hoops: Lots of talk swirling around about Miles' future with this program. My gut says as long as there isn't a total collapse to end the season, he get's another year. I really like the way this team is trending. Everyone has improved from the beginning of the season. Credit to both the players and this coaching staff. They'll keep improving these last few weeks as well. As for the rematch with Sparty, a healthy Watson and Morrow make a huge difference. Of course, the Huskers not only cover but the wrong team is favored. NU wins by 4 or more. And my prediction for player of the game? That will come to Morrow. GBR!
  13. On a seat Eichorst put hot flaming coals under....
  14. I've subscribed to the OWH for years. Love their sports section. When they added McKewon to the staff, it was a great addition. Guy knows his stuff. Never met him, but I feel like he's family. He was on this board long before working for the World Herald.
  15. Talking about the CBI at this stage is like wondering which ugly girl is gonna dance with you before you even asked the prettiest one to go out to your car on a subzero night and check out the sights at a Lincoln city park....
  16. I did a quick perusal of the Nee years. They won 3 conference road games in 90-91, 92-93 and 97-98, Played fewer road games then, however. I'm betting this team wins 5.
  17. Yes we do. And everyone who has posted on this thread up til now, gets free jerky from me when we win.
  18. I don't know if the beautiful weather brings out the positive in me or what, but I really like this Husker team right now. I think it was the exhibition game when the opposing head coach said Nebraska was a team that no one would want to play in February and March. He was right. The last few games, Jordy has really gotten better. Jack McVeigh, the last few weeks, has gotten better. The health of Morrow and Watson, though not 100%, has gotten better. I have a feeling that right now Roby's ankle is getting better. I told a friend a couple days ago that when the line came out, whatever margin Ohio State was favored to win by would be the margin of victory for the Huskers. Nebraska wins today by 5. GBR! Oh by the way, Dimes is the best!
  19. I'm planning on it. As long as bugeaters is alright with it.
  20. Sorry to butt in, Bugeaters, but this team needs a shot in the ass. Years and years ago, I took over this thread from CWG, actually butted my way in, again, and the Huskers went on a four or five game win streak. Let's hope lightning strikes twice. We beat these guys tonight. And yes, it will be right at double digits. There is no one on our schedule, the next nine games, we can't beat. So, let's get on a roll. Tonight is only the beginning! GBR!
  21. Rumor has it he's not so good with the rhythm method......
  22. I'm too tired to change prices,,,, However, we do have a Standhardinger to go special. You get a 6 pack of Heineken and a gas card at the farmers coop for 2 gallons of gas for $15.00. Only valid on sub-zero nights and you need a game and parks park permit to qualify.
  23. All I know is I'm really tired. Maybe it's the cares of life that's doing it. Maybe Northwestern winning in Madison today sets me off. But I'm tired. I'm tired of the wait til next year argument. I'm in a Kemper Arena restroom after Nebraska loses a semi-final game to Kansas State in the Big 8 Tourney, and two Wildcat fans say "Damn, can you imagine how good Nebraska will be next year when Hoppen gets there." I'm still imagining... I'm tired of it wasn't for .... If it wasn't for Tony Farmer being ineligible, if it wasn't for Jose Ramos being Jose Ramos, if it wasn't for Mikki Moore not redshirting, if it wasn't for Barry Collier, (okay, the Collier hire was idiocy in its finest form), but back to this year.... if it wasn't for AW and the injuries..... I'm tired of losing to Gardner Webb and Incarnate Word. That crap is unacceptable. I'm just tired of all of this. As I've said before, I hope Miles is our coach next year. If he's not, that's fine, too. I want Nebraska Basketball to be successful in my lifetime. I'm just really really tired.... No, I'm really, really, really tired......
