Well stated, jimmy. It's easy to stand up for free speech rights when it's an opinion you agree with that's being challenged. Not so much when someone is speaking words that offend you. But, that's when it really matters. Unfortunately, most college campuses today aren't that open minded. They tend to lean towards the progressive way of thought being the only "acceptable" mode of thinking. So far, the University, beginning with Coach Riley, has handled this decently. I am, however, disappointed in both Pete Ricketts and Hal Daub. Most on this board know I am a conservative constitutionalist when it comes to politics. Why do either of these men give a rat's ass what 3 college students do during the playing of the National Anthem? My question to both of these politicos is how did you let this nation get to the point where people have to choose between two crooked liars to hold the highest office in this land? Yet you have time to pontificate on whether or not a football field is the place to make a statement, however misguided you might believe it to be. You both can eat me.

I think our academic support system will help him with that class. Now geology, that could be a tougher rock to split.... -
Parking is free in Lincoln area parks. Don't know how much potential fines could run.....

Maybe he can help AWIII land a gig there next year.

Snapchat is a company valued at over $20B that gives people a false sense of security that anything they send will never been seen again and cannot be traced. Close enough? I got 20 bucks on the Russians proving that theory wrong....

He needs to learn to drive with a left hand dribble. Way to work a Standhardinger reference into a thread, Norm. -

colhusker, we had a one hour rain delay, but we got the golf in. The auction at Conlee's was exceptional, and it was great spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. HB! We do have a few sports related items that we didn't get to at the auction. I'll have them available for the rest of this week, so if someone is interested, pm me. Here's what left: the autographed Michael Jordan 1987 Slam Dunk all-star framed poster the Stanford Cardinal helmet that was on Game Day set autographed by Fowler and the boys an autographed Kevin Millar baseball in a nice case with the phrase "Cowboy Up" and "W.S. Champs '04" on it Albert Pujols authentic #5 Cards jersey autographed Bubba Starling blue Royals jersey Scott Podsednik #22 World Champion White Sox authentic autographed jersey Thanks, everyone! -
Here's to wishing you all a Happy Independence Day! I hope everyone gets a chance to celebrate with family and friends. I realize this nation is currently experiencing a lot of political division and turmoil. But, hopefully, we can all agree for at least one day with the guy who said the American representative republic form of government is the worst in the history of the world, with the exception of all the others.

I wish the best for Andrew. But for me, he's moved on and so have I. He's a 23 year old who can't seem to make up his mind what's best for him. I hope he finds it. I'm more focused on a certain 24 year old in my life who knows exactly what he wants and it ain't about a career. I'll never get back on this soapbox again. Peace out!

I forgot some of the coolest stuff. Been a hectic week..... a rare Michael Jordan 1987 slam dunk contest autographed framed poster, an authentic Stanford helmet that was on ESPN Game day autographed by Herbstreit, Fowler, Corso and Pollack, autographed Sammy Sosa 1998 National all-star jersey, and a Scott Posednick autographed World Champion #22 Jersey. And, A Rick Rush serigraph called "Reflections" issued 7-23-99. The retirement of MJ, Elway and Gretzky. It is awesome. -

I wanted to thank colhusker, jimmy, HB and Royalfan for being extremely generous. Also wanted to let people know we have a lot of cool sports memorabilia being auctioned off Saturday evening. Some of the things included are a 1994 National Championship Team autographed football with case. Other autographed items feature T.O., Charlie McBride, DVH, Tommie Frazier, Ahman Green, Ameer, Prince Amukamara, Alex Gordon, Bubba Starling, 2007 Husker VBall team, Joe Namath and Scottie Pippin. Getting some Red Sox World Series championship autographed stuff in tomorrow. There's a lot of other really neat stuff as well. If you get a chance, come to Conlee's tomorrow. The free food will be great. (Just got done making the cole slaw. Now, back to the kitchen to start on the baked beans...) -

Thanks, jimmy! I also want to publicly thank colhusker for all he's done. I truly consider posters on this site to be close friends, even though I haven't met some in person. The weather forecast for next Saturday looks perfect for golf, and we still have a few spots open. Afterwards, we're having Nebraska Star Beef brisket sandwiches with all the fixin's at Conlee's. It'll be a hoot! Checks can be made out to Seth Klute Benefit and sent to Conlee's P.O. Box 41 Hampton, NE 68843 -
Just a guess on my part, but I think jimmykc might take umbrage to your inclusion of Tom Baack on the list....

The way Boehm came across in the article, it reminded me he came here with Pederson. If I was him, that's not something I would want Huskers fans to recall....
