I looked up famous Samford alums and all I could find was Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher. God help us... At least there are a few songs that mention Birmingham. -
I've had several members here ask how my son Seth is doing, so here's a quick update on his battle with MDS. His mom and he are currently on their way to the Mayo clinic in Rochester. For the next couple days, he'll undergo all the preliminary stuff necessary to get the ball rolling for a bone marrow transplant. That's basically the last thing that can medically be done for him. His doctors said there's a 90% chance he'll have a compatible donor, which is good. The scary part is there's a 20% chance he doesn't make it through surgery, and even with a successful transplant, the rest of his life probably will be filled with medical complications. But hey, God has the final diagnosis here! People have commented how this is kind of a bad time of year for him to have to do this. We as a family disagree. One of the names Jesus has is Emmanuel--God with us. We know that no matter what, God is truly with us through this ordeal. When we first found out Seth had MDS, I was pleading with God, "he's my only son!" His response back? "I know how you feel..." My Christmas wish for everyone here, besides having a blessed and Merry Christmas, is that no one gets caught up in the hustle and bustle of activities surrounding Christmas. Hug the ones you love and don't go a day without telling them that you love them. Enjoy every Christmas cookie, cup of egg nog, and wrapping and unwrapping every present. But while doing these things, remember it's not about the goodies. It's all about an only Son! Merry Christmas everyone!

That's actually a pretty good landing spot for the Huskers. The 2016 season starts now.

Your post is the cat's meow, jimmy. Although some have said Miles will beat McDermott when pigs fly, I don't think you look a gift horse in the mouth and think it's a bad thing for the Huskers that CU comes into this game having lost their previous two. Confidence can sometimes be slippery as an eel when you're trying to grab it. My prediction is the sweater vests will be quiet as a church mouse at game's end when Nebraska leaves the Clink with a victory. One last unrelated thought: members of ISIS love to milk goats---especially the male ones.

I absolutely love Kent. I hope he told his broadcast partner to remember the mic is always on, even when you think you're in a break.

No potpourri. But in "Potent Potables" there is an answer about Whiskey/Nyquil chasers.....
-
The answer is: This Husker basketball letterwinner has five "N"s total in his first and last names. More than any other Husker letterman. Alex, Who is Neil Nannen? (early 60's letterman from Syracuse NE) That is correct! Two categories left: Players and their coach's wife or City parks in winter.

I look at this group of newcomers as a whole rather than individuals. They make me really excited about the future of Nebraska basketball, not only in years to come, but what they can do once conference season rolls around. Almost all of them have given quality minutes so far after seven games, and I expect them to contribute more once roles are defined as this season progresses. I would vote them a little bit better than expected, but by season's end they move up to quite a bit better.

I get asked all the time at Conlee's if we can break a hundred...

18-2 Huskers at the first break. Probably not much drama in this game. Which isn't a bad thing..... -

Hey y'all. Conlee's is now open Monday thru Saturday, so I was hoping to hang with you tonight. Since we have new look unis for the game, I thought music from the "Jersey" Boys would be appropriate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMgPVKEKrSg -
