Good Win for the Lady Huskers 93-81, taking control of the game from the get-go! Now maybe the Sagarin ratings will recognize the Huskers last three wins (and rate us ahead of all three opponents biggrin.gif)

Good for the ladies beating Michigan!    :)     Sorry the men didn't win, but they played a heck of a game (I just watched it - Had another appt so dvr'd it - told everybody NOT to tell me who won)

i noticed rachel had a boot on. most likely not good. i'll take odds she doesn't play against wisconsin.

i also noticed refs made some comments to jazz a couple of times--------wonder what that's all about?

Did you see that she got hit in the mouth towards the end of the game and she went to the refs. I wonder if the last game has the word out to watch her.

Played their best game of year. That was textbook how to use bigs to crush Mich.

Jazz played a nice game to control the point. She seemed to get the "share the ball" scheme.  Her inlet pass in 4th qtr (to Jess) rather than shoot a long jumper was great.

Jess...what can you say. She has for sure, arrived. Player of week in B1G. Maybe nationally. The refs called the fouls this time when she was shooting. Mich. had no answer...Jess is just to strong.

Thome seemed to be intimated from the start, and particularly in the first half after getting stuffed by Havers....Havers had her best overall game as a Husker. A shot blocking demon.

The all played smart...all of them. No freshman or newbies errors, or selfish play.  Just played a great game.

I'm trying to figure out who to give the game ball to. SO many played well but I think Havers gets the call this game.

i see what you are saying, but, i just can't look past 35-20. i have to go with Jess-------sorry Allie------Allie did have one of her best, if not THEE best performance as a Husker.

as far as Washington and the knee wrap/bandage----noticed that. sheeeeesh, knee wraps, ankle wraps, boots-----wth?!? there's a ways to go yet.

if there is some criticism to dole out, it would be about leaving thome wide open too often----especially the times when thome beat every one down the court for easy layups. she must have had 6-8 points that way? she also lost defender(s) around the basket a few times for other easy layups. looked like allie and jess had some miscommunication a time or two. thome is a good one, though.

35 and 20 is hard to beat, no problems.

she was perplexed by Kyndal, I listened to it earlier. looks like someone should have known what she could do even though she hadn't went off yet.

with all due respect to KC, if i was coach KBA, KC's offense concerns wouldn't have been at the top of my list either. except for one or two games, it really hasn't been there. defense a different story. yep, coach mentioned she had to pay more attention to KC and Nat and that opened a few things up for Jess.

I was incredibly wrong after the loss to Maryland. The future is indeed bright for NU and the present isn't bad. A road win without Theriot is very impressive. I should have never doubted Coach Yori and the ability of her team.

Girls have won 5 straight and are a whole different team from the team that started 0-3

Yes, some of the "freshmen" newness seems to have worn off.  Really commendable how they have developed, with Connie at the helm.

When this 5 game win streak began, the real team decided to show up. If we can get a new playable guard or two next year...we'll be very tough with what may well be the best group of bigs in the B1G.

Like most coaches tell us "It's a process", and like most fans we want to see results the minute these players step on the court. That process got me to thinking yesterday after we won in Ann Arbor. I think we're starting to see glimpses from our back to back top twenty recruiting classes starting to gel and we're seeing just how good this team is going to be in the near future.

When word got out yesterday that Rachel Theriot wasn't going to play, I'm sure the thought that we we're going to struggle to win against the Wolverines popped into everyone's view of the outcome. I it did me. But something's coming together and we can see it each game they play and yesterday was a hugh step in that direction.

Just think when Jess gets up to par what she'll be able to accomplish, teams are having a tough time now trying to contain her. Look at how much Natalie has improved both offensively and defensively, Jazz played her best game to date in Ann Arbor. Give me a healthy Rachel Blackburn and Maddie Simon and the future looks really bright.

It's not like last year where they had no idea at what to do, Does Clark move over to the point ?

At least we are a little better equipped to handle it this year unlike last. we have a few players that can handle the point. you have Nat, Clark, Jazz, Maddie,Woody.

Jazz was at the point, as part of Connie's scheme, to have Nat and Kyndal be free to roam and try to get free for shots. ...and to have them defend Mich best shooters. Clark had Fleharty and held her to about half her average, which was huge.  That was pretty good thinking on Yori's part to set up the scheme, and be able to insert Jazz. Luckily, Jazz has been healthy this year, with just enough experience to run the team. Hope RT will be able to get back soon...with her playing, we're in a very good place now.

We have just enough people at all the spots to get the job done.  We just seem to be able to have enough bodies, with a sub at most positions. But we need to somehow, get and keep everyone healthy.

The process of getting the freshmen, and frankly Kyndal, up to speed and blend them all together has turned out certainly as well as we could have expected, when we had basically two starters to work with. I thought we had talent coming in, but would be pretty far away from a "team". And we were in the beginning. Now we're much more consistent and fluid. After all, we all knew it was a rebuilding year.

Hope we can finish in the Top 25 this season. ...think big or don't think at all.  ;)

Like Row6 says, the team has come together and geld. Still a lot of tough games, but we seem to be getting to about the same level of play as last year. Maybe not all the way, but closer, and closer, as seen in the last few weeks. We're a much different team from last year, with different skill sets...but getting up to nearly the same playing level. Last year we struggled without RT, but we have much different arsenal now......more scorers.

Next year will something like this year in the respect that we will have to get guards sorted out. We'll have a good starting point with Nat, Jazz, Maddie, with Emily, plus incoming new class...with club play experience and....talent.

Next year we'll have as strong a set of bigs that I can remember. Jess, Burns, Hallie, and Washington...we'll be very strong in the paint. To some extent can carry the team like Sunday, and help us get the new 2016-17 guard set up in play next year. But we should start out real well, and at a much higher level than in the beginning of this year.

The fun's not over yet.
