jimmykc Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Don't quite know how to process this, but if it is bad for Missouri, then it must be good. hhcmatt 1 Quote

49r Posted November 9, 2015 Author Report Posted November 9, 2015 THIS JUST IN.... Missouri chancellor R. Bowen Loftin announces his resignation effective Jan. 1st. Many of you may remember him as the man largely responsible for getting Texas A&M out of the Big 12 and into the SEC. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 And so it looks like the University Pres was forced to resign over a hoax. The black kid who was hunger striking? He's the son of a big wig at Union Pacific who made over $7 million last year. Yep, the son of a 1%er telling the University Pres he needs to check his privilege. Got it. And the student body President is a young black man who happened to report hearing racial slurs hurled in his direction while off-campus. That was the impetus for this whole thing getting started -- that the student body pres, a young black man, was the target of off-campus racial slurs. Per his own report. Except now this same student body president also claimed that the KKK was on campus 2 nights ago and that he himself was in contact with the national guard and the state patrol. A claim he later retracted, saying he was the victim of multiple inaccurate sources. And our hunger striker? If I read the report correctly, he was the one who has now tweeted that black students on the MU campus are now the subjects of death threats -- AS TO WHICH the U of Mizzou official twitter feed has come out and debunked and said there were no credible death threats. Well, turns out very little if any of this was credible. The "swastika" made from poop smeared on a bathroom wall? Apparently, in spite of all the smart phones out there, no one photographed it. No real evidence that it ever existed. So, a university President and a Chancellor have both quit over their lack of response to alleged incidents that might not have actually happened. In other words, they didn't respond forcefully enough to events that didn't happen, and so they just had to go. #Ineedahashtag http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/outkick-the-coverage/is-the-entire-mizzou-protest-based-on-lies-111115 Quote

Clay Travis. LOL. Clay Travis is concerned about Clay Travis. 2. These guys get paid a lot to run a University. If they weren't capable/motivated to address issues before this week and their response this week was to fall on their swords instead of addressing the racial issues of their campus, it's real hard to feel like they got a bum deal. jimmykc Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 I hope the Pres and Chanc have nice golden parachutes to soften the blow. Can this be a factor in the easy capitulations? If Col.Travis had been a similar type of leader we wouldn't have ever heard of Davy Crockett or Jim Bowie. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted November 12, 2015 Report Posted November 12, 2015 Not sure what to make of what's been happening at Mizzou, but there apparently was an incident report filed for the Nazi droppings: Quote

49r Posted November 13, 2015 Author Report Posted November 13, 2015 Sad news, apparently Pinkel has Lymphoma and that is the reason for his retirement. http://www.mutigers.com/news/2015/11/13/PinkelStatement.aspx Pinkel's decision is health-based, as he was diagnosed in May of 2015 with lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer of the blood. He received multiple treatments in May and June, and after doctors indicated that the treatments wouldn't interfere with his coaching duties, he decided that he would continue to coach the Tigers in 2015. I don't know who Clay Travis is. Ad hominems aside, what about his reporting is incorrect? 2. Exactly what issues were they supposed to address? The initial complaint -- which came from a guy whom we now know subsequently mislead/lied to people about the KKK being on campus that night -- was that the student body president was called a racist name by some unidentified passer by while off campus. What is the university president supposed to do about that? Quote
