Wow, they called 1 foul and 1 turnover on her. I counted 5 walks in the first half, lost track in the second because I decided they weren't going to call it anyway. Saw numerous slaps from her across the arm. Are they scared of her?

Is Zahui the big fat tub of goo that thinks she is the best on the court? She jumped higher after the game was over than for any rebound all night. Bet she doesn't flop that bad if you were fighting her for the last donut!

Yes that is the one, The big from Maryland is going to her alive. Although they have the same body mass.

I think this will happen to Nebraska every game till we get more than 6 ppl playing good minutes!!! Get a big lead and lose it because the girls are dead tired.... You could tell theriot was tired she made a lot of mental mistakes towards the end.. But the biggest call of the night was that flop. That killed our moment... hard lose but I am ok with it.... I know we will be good by the end of the season when it matters...

He's KState's problem now. Probably enrolling as a grad student so he can be a grad assistant on the bench next season.

Can she get minutes down there to their liking?

Good question. Sounds like they signed some good guards for next year, and they will have plenty of returners that have played significant minutes. How do you take two scholarships away from that group? Or do they pay their own way? And will they actually beat people out for significant playing time? Could be a lot more drama in KState's future. Couldn't happen to a nicer school.

It looks like the same down there as it was here for her. You just don't show up and expecting to take minutes from two players that have started every game of their career. And a third that has almost as much time in.

How does a Division 1 team get into the situation that they only have 6 scholarship players and a walk-on?  Are any of the injured ever going to play?  I thought that Romeo was ready to get some minutes several games ago but it seems that none of the injured is close to playing.  Where is Washington?  Is she also injured?  It may be time to take her out of her red shirt and get another player on the floor.  This is a good basketball team but I see us risking more injuries by playing players that are extremely tired.  That is when serious injuries occur.  I have never heard of a team having to forfeit games but we came dangerously close last night.  Foul trouble caused us to not play very good defense near the end of the game.  This allowed drives which ended in three point plays.  This has to be rectified soon or a potentially great season will go down the drain.  Had we had one or two bodies available to  at least play a couple of minutes, we would have never lost that game.  It has to be very hard on the five starters.

Kind of looked like we were gassed.... the last 10 min or so.....the kids just got tired. Minn kept subbing and we couldn't respond in kind.

A few bad calles and we coundn't respond well enough.

We just aren't deep enough......never thought I'd say that last fall...but we're there for the time being.

I was thinking that, too, redsteve.  If we can't have a couple more players back within the next week, Washington may need to burn her redshirt.  Didn't we have a similar situation with injuries when Lindsey Moore was a sophomore?  I seem to remember being very thin off the bench, and some players not 100% having to play a lot of minutes.  Seems like this happens every 6 years or so.  We didn't see it last year because we only brought in a couple of players, but when we bring in several recruits at a time, we seem to have stress reactions.

A division 1 team gets into this situation by having 1 person quit midseason, 4 people with injuries (1 didnt make trip due to stomach flu), 4 people with stomach flu and werent even at the arena (3 stayed home, 1 got sick on trip), and 1 that is redshirting.

Does it suck?  Of course it does.  Is this a unique situation?  You bet your butt it is.

You all remember last year?  Hooper, Cady, Theriot, Sample were logging huge minutes early in the conference season and as the season went on others stepped up and look how it turned out....  People need to calm down.... it will be just fine.

I blame fatigue for this one both mentally and physicallly. Really proud of the way Huskers who played worked their butts off. What seemed to hurt us most was when with 6 minutes or so left, we didn't adjust well when Minnesota switched to a trapping 3-2 zone. It seemed like fatigue had started to set in and we wound up taking some horrible shots allowing them to come down and make a few baskets and grab some momentum which in turn enabled the crowd to get back into the game.

We have got to make our lay-ups and our free throws. Too many times we missed easy ducks from point blank range and had we made our free throws we win the game. In games like these we got to have both Brandi and Hallie scoring points on the offensive side of the ball, or at least more than the six they gave us last night.  Brandi bless her heart she was a rebounding monster out there and was fantastic in every other aspect of the game but only two points out of her doesn't cut it. And we know she can do it.

I don't want to blame this one on the refs but I'm still wondering where the ref posing as frankenstein earned his stripes or why he was out there wearing them. I figured it was a bad omen right away at the onset that we could be in for a long game with that over and back call getting reversed by the ref who didn't even see it.

We did miss quite a few easy put-backs.  Not just one person, but several of them.  Fatigue indeed.  And having Sample in foul trouble always seems to hurt us.  I give props to Emily Wood for playing scrappy again.  Wish that 3 would have gone in for her.  I have a feeling once she hits one, she will be on.  It was soooo close.  Good that Em got the rebound and put-back.

Washington is red shirting, Romeo had the flu and din't make the trip. Anya made the trip but got sick in Minnesota.

I was at the game, and was very impressed with Nebraska--highly skilled, well coached, and suffered from inability to substitute. An exciting and hard fought game. Several posts here are way over the line. No need to denigrate players, use profanity and attribute the loss to referrees with no respect for the opponent. The fact is, Minnesota had a 32-12 run. Seems to me you can be a strong supporter and still maintain courtesy and sportsmanship. Raise you standards, so you are as good as your team is. This is an embarassment. Connie had the class to compliment the opponent on a well played second half. You could do the same

Sorry j didn't mean to make fun of your daughter.

But I bet she is good at boxing out at the buffet line.

Also we need to slow down sometimes. If you watch one of our games you would think we are down 15 instead of up 15. We run...run...runnnnnnn and some times we need to run some clock and shorten the game and not allow the other team the time to come back. Might also allow us to keep our legs some. But it is hard to get that to happen when that is what you do and do it well.

You don't want to go the the men's game thread if you are so thin skinned then. Some of the no calls and calls were game changers, so I can criticize the refs if I so well choose. It's called FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
