I think he'd absolutely be willing to do something like this. I mean, it's Miles. The real questions if Miles did it are would it have the same effect and how would it be taken? It probably comes off a little different when you're not a legendary coach. Miles is not yet, at least in terms of the national basketball scene and in terms of winning national titles. It also probably depends on where the small school that got whooped up on is from. If it's NWU or Kearney or something then it probably goes okay. If it's an out of area lower division school then they're probably like, "Who the heck is this guy"?

I hated when we joined the Big Ten because Michigan State was my favorite "other" team in football/basketball.

 

They still are.

Takes a lot for a first year coach to swallow some pride and let another coach to that too. Should help him in the long run also.

Interesting.  I'm not sure if I remember a coach doing this before.  BTW: One of the captains mentioned for St Cloud was Connor Niehaus a Senior from Fremont High School.

I still believe the Marcus Fizer led Iowa State team was hosed by the officials when they lost to eventual champ Michigan State in Ponitac. The next year MSU fans(and UConn) were crying because T.J. Ford led Texas got to play in San Antonio.  I didn't have much sympathy.  What a great deal if NU was good enough to be placed in Omaha!
