I was just thinking of next year with everyone coming back from a 4th place finish in the Bigten conference and we got some votes and were just outside the top 25 after the Wisconsin win.

Could Nebraska basketball be a preseason top 25 team this fall?

I'd be surprised if we're picked to finish in the top 6 of the B1G.

I'd also be surprised if we didn't exceed anyone's expectations again

I'm a little scared about next year.  I don't expect a nose-dive, but I could see us falling back into the NIT.  The surprise element won't be there anymore.  Nathan and Tai have to develop that 3.

As good as the B1G was this year, it could be even deeper next year.  Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern and Minnesota are all likely expecting to take a step forward.  I know Rutgers is a joke, but Maryland always has a ton of talent and now they're in the mix.  Including us, 11 of the 14 teams in the league will enter the year with a shot at dancing.  More than one talented team will be eaten alive, there just aren't enough conference wins to go around.  I expect us to have a better team next season, but would be very happy to duplicate our 11-7 record in conference.
