Silverbacked1 Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 If you are in his shoes would you rather tell your grandkids you beat Wisconsin to get your team to the dance for the first time in 16 years or that you played the first two minutes of the last regular season home game of your career? I think it's a no brainer you don't mess with what is working. Heck I am going to tell my grandkids, if I ever have any, I hit the game winner for us that gave us the state title. Disclaimer, my team din't go to state in basketball and I was the student manager, but whatbare they going to question their Grandpa? I thnk not. Quote

Hey I will tell my grandkids I was part of that state championship football team my senior year! I was the stat guy and played no actual role in us winning but hey I was there. Silverbacked1 1 Quote

royalfan Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 this is mind boggling crazy if the people wanting to start peltz are serious.....so if wisconsin comes out and gets up 8-2, or 5-0 or whatever and we have to play from behind for 10 minutes or whole first half you think it was worth it, this isnt the ymca.......unrealllllll some of you are sayn this.......for one thing being down 6 to wisconsin is almost like being down 15 to a different team, the way they play and sit on the ball and make u defend and take high percentage shots means than get up 6 early and they will probably be ahead most of the entire first half unless they go completely cold, but they play 5 guys who can knock down shots......secondly even if you can argue peltz wouldnt "hurt us" for two minutes, who knows how that will disrupt the rythm of they guys who normally start but are now coming off the bench.......you start your best 5, this thread should b deleted , makes our fan base look ignorant 1. You are going to say what should be deleted? After you get a thread locked, and then worse yet a thread deleted yesterday due to your racist comments? And you are complaining about some people that think it would be okay to play Peltz until a dead ball making our base look ignorant? What is worse? Looking ignorant or being racist? Food for thought. 2. What is mind boggling crazy is to think Peltz playing for Tai until a dead ball is going to be the reason we get down by 10 early. Seriously think about that for a second. I completely understand leaving the lineup and I am 50-50 on the issue. It really is not as big a deal as people are making it out to be, and you are the poster child for blowing it out of proportion. 3. Feel free to break your jibberish into some sentences. And perhaps try using a paragraph or two. One long run on sentence is kind of tough to read 4. You should be careful calling people idiots and what not, when you made one of the most idiotic comments ever yesterday regarding Ray and Petteway shooting 3's. It is much better to be accused of being wrong on an opinion, than being wrong on facts like you. 5. Using things like ahahahahhahahahahah, funnyyyyyyyyyy ahahahahahhahaha wowwwwwwwwww cmonnnnnnnn and a ton of exclamation points does not make your point better. It makes you look like a 6th grade girl texting on a phone. And perhaps you should save some of your run on w's and y's etc and use them to actually spell out words that you abbreviate time and time again during your babbling run on sentences. 6. This is a great message board with generally good people. Perhaps you should try and consider that a bit more. 7. No, I am not a tough guy. Quote
TheGov21 Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 I have no idea why people are getting so upset about the idea of starting a senior on senior night. Yes Wisconsin is a huge game. But is it really going to hurt things to start Peltz and Rey? Come on. Peltz isn't a good player, but he's not going to hurt the team. Geez. I think it's rewarding for those guys to have their names annouced during the starting lineup and all. You put them out there and then as soon as the ball is thrown up you take your normal starters to the scores table. You probably have them in there for a minute at the most. Not a big deal at all. TheKamdyMan Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 I like all the posters on this site, and Im sure this analogy WILL NOT go over well with some, but I truly think Nebrasketball fans are like battered spouses. They've been beat so many times that when there's a chance to get out they still fall back to old habits because its what they know. We are talking about starting a guy thats played 54 minutes total this year just because he's a senior in the biggest game in Nebraska since the 90's. I dont care if its one minute you do not change things up just for a "show". Peltz is a great kid but he has only played in 11 games for a reason. He is a liability to this team and Tai is 10X the player he is with room for growth. If anything Benny deserves the start but not Peltz. Quote
49r Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 I will trust the coaches' decision on this matter. That is the extent to which I have an opinion on the subject. Carry on... Quote
FredsSlacks Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 why there is 0% chance of peltz starting -not a scholarship player -has had no part in our 10 conference wins -biggest game in program history -Miles will not mess up the rotation, which could mess up the chemistry for the whole game. -Peltz knows that he is a walk-in and is not going to beg to start the game. I vote this thread be locked. I don't think it was ever meant to be serious, and some people are taking it way too serious. Quote
