doc1394 Posted March 6, 2014 Author Report Posted March 6, 2014 Were they surprised to see you? What were some of the things they said? Yeah I'd say so. They didn't really say too much, it looked like the bus was just going to roll by us, but then Leslee got up and walked to the front. Then every player got out and shook hands and thanked us for coming out. They looked genuinely excited. Shavon then yelled out something about thanking us for being there, and they all filed back on to the bus, waved, and were off. We somehow missed the coaches though. I think they drove by before we knew what was going on. Quote
KZRider Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Nice job all who met them. Wish I could have joined you. For those of us who don't tweet, how did the players react? I hope they are feeling our love. Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Imagine the turnout as the anticipated future unfolds??? Quote
Cookie Belcher Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Really cool guys. I'm sure that meant a lot to them. Quote

Silverbacked1 Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Best part was we were in our car and they getting off the plane and my son's buddy starts waving, our husker flag. We start yelling and a couple guys wave, but then all of a sudden about half the team comes back around from behind some cars and you can see them taking pictures with their phones. That was really cool We didn't know that we could have driven up by the bus or we would have, but in the words of my son's buddy "This is the best night of my life". i told him he is young but that this would fit in my top ten all time. colhusker 1 Quote

royalfan Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 I was in the minority about not being too thrilled about that NIT. That was a team that could match up well with anyone, anywhere. They should have been making a run through the NCAA tourney, not the NIT. Anyone that cruised through the NIT like we did that year, should not be in the NIT. Quote

I agree but I also thought that was going to,be the beginning of our turn to basketball prowess. Kind of missed that call, until now. Quote
hal9000 Posted March 6, 2014 Report Posted March 6, 2014 Awesome! Kudos to all who made it down there. What an exciting time. Quote

However, we were in the NIT and I got to be part of the win that sent us off to the Big Apple. Quote
