Instead of win totals, another way to read that is we need two more wins and a first round win against a 10-12 seed tournament team is essentially worthless.  Quality Wins > Quantity Wins

Not crazy, I thought 19 was our number, that's what others alluded to. Man those close ones add up.

It's all guesswork and each analyst has their own number. Some analysts saying 19 wins doesn't make it "our number."

I think 20 wins gets us in with no doubt, and probably gets us out of the First Four.  19 gets us in the conversation and especially if we beat Wisconsin probably gets us in unless crazy things happen in the conference tournaments (like WSU losing in MVC Tourney) or some other bubble teams go crazy the next week.

In two game win scenarios IMO it all depends on what games we win. Assuming all other B1G games the home teams win, it looks to me like it plays out this way.

Ind (W), Wisc (L), 6 seed against Purdue (W) I DO NOT think that gets us in. We would still have to play and beat MSU

Ind (L), Wisc (W), 6 seed against Purdue (W) I DO think that gets us in because the Wisc win would be a huge resume builder and we would have showed up in the B1G tournament. We would NOT have to beat MSU.

Ind (W), Wisc (W), 4 seed bye against Iowa/PSU (L). UNCERTAIN because the last thing we show the selection committee will be a loss at the B1G tournament. However, they would be in the tough position of having, likely, to take Iowa and OSU but NOT taking the team seeded above them. Would the Wisc win overcome our B1G showing? Depends on how well Wisc does at the tournament.

Ind (L), Wisc (L), 6 seed against Purdue (W), Quarter final against MSU (W). I DO think this gets us in because we will have reached the semi-final game of the B1G tournament and beating MSU twice would sway the committee.

Worthless? 2 wins in the tourney is 2 wins??? He did say quarter and semi just 2 wins. This is crazy. Depressing to an extent. To be so close and look at those losses like PSU. Looking at bracket matrix we have lots of work to do and need some help unless we make another run. Watching Saturday it was easy to see this team really needs shooters to step up.

Yeah the reason he would be saying 2 in the b1G tourney is because the first one doesn't carry any weight with the committee. What he is alluding to is he thinks we need 2 more high quality wins. 1 this week either @Indiana or Wisconsin, and then another one in the second round of the B1G like Iowa or Ohio State. The reason he didn't say 1 on the b1g tourney is because the first one against PSU or Northwestern doesn't do much for us.

A point guard would be huge.  A combo guard that can handle the ball well is even better.  We need a guy that can put the basketball in the basket badly at that spot.  It is odd that we are pretty good considering you want to be strong up the middle in about any sport.  In basketball that is the one and 5 positions.

We've seen a lot of Dylan Talley and now Terran Petteway come in at the end of the season and run some point and it's been fairly successful.

Problem w Terran running point is he doesn't pass a ton. Host a/t ratio is bad. He can put in some work this summer and improve his game. We just don't have a complete point or combo. I like Tai but his shot needs help. We have little threat at the pg spot.
