That was a huge sweept...without looking at the numbers I'd guess OSU was one of our last series to get some nice RPI wins.  It's always nice to beat Creighton...but their offense is so bad we should be able to throw just about anybody and still be in the game.  KSU is the more important game...they have beat us the last 4 times out and they will be a solid RPI team.

It is warming up.  The team seems to be gaining some mojo...perhaps good things are about to happen.  Nice win last night.

We just need to get it to the 8th inning apparently.  That's four games in a row where the opposing team led into the 8th and we came back to win.  Pitching looks like it may be coming around...but the bats are in a bit of a slump.  I saw a stat where we haven't had an extra base hit since March 30th.  But as long as the starting pitching is getting outs we may not need to score a ton of runs.

Looking at the numbers, I'm wondering what NU has to do to be sitting on the right side of the bubble if we are in the discussion in a couple weeks.  Current RPI is #45...SOS is #44.  So not terrible numbers by any means....but the SOS will probably take a hit with our remaining schedule.  Warren Nolan has our predicted SOS at #94...not sure how accurate that will be.  Per Boyds World RPI Needs report in order for us to finish top 32 in RPI we will need to win 18 of the 23 reamaining games.  I think we probably need to be in the top 32 to have a good shot.....18 out of the next 23 will be tough, but not impossible.  We have a pretty easy schedule going forward.  We need to sweep teams like Northwestern and PSU...that may give us a shot in the end.

I would like to see us play with a lead once, just to see how we handle it.

Pitching will take us a long way and we seem to have that.

And the Huskers bring the brooms with them again this week end and sweep Minnesota. And now the Huskers sit one game back of Indiana, This is also the first time that the Huskers sweep conference foes since 2006. And now how do the Huskers look ?

Big sweep of the Gophers. If we continue with the good pitching we should be able to take care of the remaining Big 10 opponents. Would be nice to beat KSU this Tuesday...they have had our number the past few years and would help our RPI out.

10 of our last 11 is impressive. Really working our way toward a regional now. We sweep these next four and we will be sitting pretty.

Finally got the KSU monkey off our back.  Can't let the guard down the next four games...show up and we should be able to beat UNO and NW every night.  With the way we are playing right now and how our schedule unfolds it should set up for a strong finish and hopefully a regional invitation.

The only web site I could find that had the brackets out has us in Corvalus(sp) with Oregon State, UNLV and I think Hofetra. That would not be easy.

Still way too early to get too excited about brackets. A lot of hot and cold with baseball. We need to minimize "bad losses" going forward, although inevitably we'll have a couple. The more we do, the morethe tournament will be important for seeding. A key going forward will be keeping the arms healthy on the weekend starters and Hirsch and Roeder.
