A little Ice Cube reference there. Looks like he had 24 points, 22 rebounds, 10 blocks, 5 assists and 4 steals last night. We all know the competition is lacking but it's great to see him dominate.

Let's hope this kid exceeds expectations like Petteway has. Oklahoma cracked the top 25 this week, wasn't he committed there? At least he was on the radar of some schools that are having success.

Whats the deal wit the Okie thing? Somebody tole me once that his decommitment was kinda like Clinkscales recent decommit for football....more that OU dint want him rather than a true decommit. Anybody know for sure?

I do worry about him switchin hs to go back to a smaller one doe.

It's not that we don't want Clinkscales.  It's that we apparently doubt his ability to become eligible.

If OU soured on Hammond, I think they made a mistake.  The kid is pretty good.  And he's eligible (or will be.)  No worries about him academically that I've ever heard.

He was at Sunrise as a Junior.

He is now at his hometown high school in Oklahoma, which is smaller, about halfway through his last season.

For a kid who has been to 3-4 different high schools, it would seem he is on his last one.

Oklahoma has two open scholarships and needs a big man.

Hammond is an instate kid that is ranked as one of the top 150 kids in the country (or near it)

This would be a "true" decommit.

In hammonds class of 2014 Oklahoma has two center commits and one pf commit. I think they got plenty of big men! Two of those cats are 124 & 128 in the rivals 150.

Jacob Hammond decomitted from Oklahoma in May of 2013 and committed to the Huskers in mid-August of 2013 (according to Rivals). The three Oklahoma commitments to-date, Buford, Lattin and McNeace, all committed (according to Rivals) to Oklahoma in October and November of 2013. While these three players appear to be excellent recruits for Oklahoma, they appear to have no connection to Jacob Hammonds decommitment decision, which occurred a half-year earlier.
