Severe tweeted this is his last week at the best job he's ever had.  For those who fondly remember Kugler and Severe as being one of the best duos on sports radio (including, frankly, Mike and Mike) it'll be kind of a melancholy day when he's gone.  But there was something of the "it" factor working between him and Kugler that, well, it was just never the same after Kugler left.

 

But those two did a good job while they were together and it's a little sad to see the last of that duo signing off.

 

Anyone have any insight on where he's headed or who they have lined up to replace him?

Apparently ... they're talking about reuniting John Bishop with Jack Mitchell from KLIN's morning show.

 

Hmmmmm.

 

I might not listen to 1620 if they did that, but I might start listening to KLIN again.

 

(Sorry if I have offended anyone -- anyone except John Bishop, that is -- but John is beyond obnoxious and neither one of them are anywhere near as funny as they think they are.  Fortunately, my radio has an on-off button and a dial and I have choices.)

id pretty disappointed, i like Mike'l, im not a fan of john bishop, and 590 is terrible in the afternoon. Right the only thing that keeps me somewhat interested in AM radio while im driving is catching parts of Sharp & Benning and Nick Bahe isnt to bad. but if Mike'l is leaving...eh

And bobcat, I hate to bag on the guy but, trust me, Jack Mitchell, if that's who they're going after, is NOT an upgrade on Mike'l.  (Although he might be an upgrade over John Bishop.  Maybe they could swap out Mitchell for Bishop and keep Severe?)

I thought I heard an advertisement on 1620 this morning that Travis Justice and Rob Zaticka were going to start doing a one hour show at 6:00 pm on Friday nights. Maybe they said 5 nights a week I'm not sure as I didn't listen all that closely.

i hated that KMTV thing Justice, and Zaticka they did a few years back..afternoon drive talk radio is terrible in general, but at least Mike'l offered a different perspective. Whenever they interview the twin peaks girls (i know one of them personally) i cringe a little bit when John Bishop asks questions...it always comes off awkward.

Whenever they interview the twin peaks girls (i know one of them personally) i cringe a little bit when John Bishop asks questions...it always comes off awkward.

I hung out on a bus in the rain with some Twin Peaks girls once.  At that Nationwide Tour event they held at Champions in Omaha in 2012.  There was a couple hour rain delay, they were done working their shift at the course, and didn't want to walk to their cars in the pouring rain.  But by the time they reached the bus, they were already pretty drenched.  That was a bus ride that didn't actually suck.

That was the first thing that came to mind when I heard Mike'l say he was leaving.  Please God don't let this happen.  I'm probably totally off with this guess but it does make sense.  I wouldn't be shocked if one of these two guys ended up being the replacement........Jason Peter or Jake Bogus

It's called Doc Talk.  Not sure what it's about, but assuming sports injury stuff.

As soon as the Twin Peak girls come on, the radio turns in my car.  I had to.  All the drool from John's mouth was starting to drown me in my car.

Interesting in that he'll be basically competing against Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

Looks like Jay Foreman will be cohosting for a month till they find a permanent replacement. Better hope they find somebody good. Because for me, I have no desire to listen to the new duo
