Hope you're right, ajb. Hope you're right.

I didn't make any predictions or anything, just simply stated that we go the distance on this one, which is a given I think. We are committed. I'm just trying to ease the naysayers' fears. I'll say it again. He may not choose us. But this staff, to date, has always been 10 steps ahead of the game on recruiting. Whenever a door has been slammed shut there's always been 10 other paths that pop up. They've got this figured out. This isn't Doc taking a wild stab at a recruit he knows we can't get with no backup plan in waiting. He may not choose us, but he certainly could. And this isn't over yet.

gotta agree, if Tim Miles didnt think we had a chance or it wasnt going to go our way, youd have to asssume there would be some calls, offers leaked to big men out there. No i do believe they are doing their due diligence and making solid back up plans, but i believe we think we will get ER,

and it comes down to what ive said previously. ER wants to be a trailblazer, and trend setter, go somewhere and make a name....that wont happen at LSU, he will always have a shadow, and LARGE expectations, at dear old NU sadly(with the hope of change) we dont have those same expectations and legends.

I don't think too many are predicting him to go to Nebraska, so that tweet may be a good thing for us.

We have some things going for us right now that other schools don't.

-Kenya

-New arena/facilities

-His aau coach likes us

-We need a big man

-better chance of creating a legacy here

Don't forget the quotes by Elbert's dad where he said Elbert wants to make his 'own mark' and 'play right away'.

"these predictions are getting crazy...no one really knows where I am going"   from Elbert's tweet

I wish this meant something a little special for NU (ie --nobody is predicting us and he has it in the back of his head we are his #1).   But more likely, he just doesn't know where he is headed yet and therefore nobody should be predicting for him ?

trickey, I think the rule is you can lift a quote (sort of as a teaser to get the reader to click the link), from stuff that is available free online, but you can NOT copy/paste whole articles.

Nice link, BTW.  Don't sleep too much on Georgia Tech, btw.  They just landed a center but they have one more scholarship and could also use the size.

At this point I'd rather see Robinson make a trip to Georgetown instead of A&M.  A&M is a better fit for him and is nearby.

He doesn't want to stay in college more than 2 years?

I don't how I feel about him saying that.

Tai Webster essentially said the same thing.  If we want to be a big boy program. this is the stuff we are going to have to deal with and accept.

I would assume that most kids with talent view college merely as a one or two year requirement now.

Yeah I saw that one too. But, if the plan is to only be at a college for two years he better put himself at a school where he can see a lot of minutes right away. I say he should come here, rack up all the minutes he wants for two years, and he'll be put to the test competing against the top bigs in the B1G. Showcase yourself against those big guys instead of going to Ohio State and competing with those guys for minutes.

He also wants to go somewhere he can win right away. Might be part of the reason he's possibly waiting until spring to sign somewhere. So he can see what school is going to have the players in place to win for his two years. Even more reason we've got to win this year.

You got your wish. ER is going to Georgetown for his 5th official October 11. A&M will still probably get an unofficial though.

Keep in mind Michigan State has a former 5-star player who will be playing his senior year this year.  Just because they think they want to make a 1-year or 2-year jump to the NBA doesn't mean that's how things will play out.  I'm sure Adreian Payne thought he'd be one and done but there he is still playing at MSU.  There are a lot more kids with NBA aspirations than there are players who actually get there and I don't mind a guy who has big goals.

I just don't think he's quite good enough at this point to say he wants to be a one-and-done or even two-and-done player. He's got potential, but he's only averaging like 12 points a game at the high school level. I don't think he's going to come into the Big Ten or Big East and dominate his first year or two.

DeAndre Jordan averaged 26 points and 15 rebounds in high school in Texas, but only 8 and 6 at A&M. Yes he was still drafted, but not until the 2nd round. A couple more years at A&M would have really increased his draft stock.

So, here's how it's going to go down.  Elbert visits Ohio State this weekend?  Along with all their other commits, as I understood it from above in this thread?  So, D'Angelo Russell (a previous Nebraska target) will be there also?

Yeah.

They both will hate Columbus.  The whole attitude will rub them the wrong way.  Russell will rethink his commitment and he and Elbert will get to talking about how Nebraska would be just as good as Ohio State if they both went there instead.  So Elbert calls Miles and says, hey, if I commit, would you have room for D'Angelo Russell too?

And Miles says, hmmm, maaaaybe, I'd have to see, but yeah, I think I could make that work.

And then Elbert says, well, let me put D'Angelo on the phone.

And D'Angelo says, hey, Coach Miles, me and Elbert want to come to Nebraska.  But we're a package deal.  So, if you want him, you gotta take me too.

And then Norm woke up, and then ...
