Norm Peterson Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 He is a must must get for this staff. 6'6" Center? I hope he has the skills of a 3 or the ability to grow another couple of inches. Quote

lanigan123 Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 He is a 3 or a 4. Likely a 4. He is balling. He is so darn talented, he is a guy you can build around. Quote

I have a buddy that attends a bunch of tournaments like the Hoop Hall Classic, the peach Jam of the EYBL, etc and says Morrow is better as a complement player than being the man in his opinion. He said when he watched him playing AAU as the top man he didnt play as well as he did at Simeon with jabari parker last year. Now obviously not everyone has a Parker to take the spotlight off of him but theres always a target on the man. I think Petteway/Shields is the best example of "the man" and a complement player. Petteway is going to get his shots no matter what but Shields this year seems to be the complement guy when they put the pressure elsewhere he exploits it. I have no problem with either because every team needs both. HB, hhcmatt and NeHoops 3 Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 Well, he plays for the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team, they have so many good players, and he was a sophomore when he was seen? Has he ever had to be "the man"? Your friend may very well be right, but athletically and talent wise, he would be as good of a get as any player on a long time on a big time need spot. He as a junior has so much upside. You match him up w a good set of guards and Hammond, you have yourself a good squad. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 The faster he commits the faster we can utilize him as a recruiting tool. Players want to play w players. Quote
Concrete Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 We are wasting our time on this kid, IMO. (kidding) 49r and bobcat402 2 Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 LoL. I think he is a 4 year starter at the 4. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 LoL. I think he is a 4 year starter at the 4. I think you're wrong. I think he wasn't even practicing with the varsity last year. And I'm pretty sure there's a news article linked in this thread already that says so. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Practicing? Playing behind Jabari? As a sophomore, as a junior being a big time player on his team? Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Playing behind Jabari Parker for 2 years is not 4-year starter. Still could be a fantastic player, not saying he's not, but you said he was a 4-year starter. I don't think that's the case. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 LoL. I think he is a 4 year starter at the 4. OK, I'm confused. Are you saying he has been/will be a 4-year starter at the 4 in HS? Or are you projecting that he'll be a 4-year starter at the 4 for us? Quote

I don't think he will be that either, but I am pretty sure that is what he meant. Quote
ajb5856 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 For us. I don't think 4 year starter for us is that much of a stretch. It's possible. It could happen, I just don't think that it will (if he comes here). He might be a great player and could end up doing very very well for us, but to start at the 4 as a freshman will be hard to do. Like I said, could happen, but most likely not. Not a lot of freshman start anymore and hopefully our program advanced 2 years from now is to the point where we don't need a freshman to start. We've got the sophomores now to take spots on the floor, no they are not all 4s but still take spots away, and anyone else Miles brings in for this class. You could be right, he could start, but more likely he just sees some minutes off the bench. Hopefully we are not relying on incoming freshman to start two years from now. Quote
Norm Peterson Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 I wish you were all telling me he has the skills to take over as a scoring wing when Terran Petteway graduates a couple of years from now. PF would be great if he's at least 6'8". Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 Have you guys watched his tape. He finishes at the basket strong. I think he is way more advanced as akoy agau. Quote
Cookie Belcher Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Nigel Hayes is a stud and he doesn't even start. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Nigel also went to Wisconsin, we have rivers as a 4, who else? Not sure what position they want nick fler to play but I'm not sold it's the 4. It may depend on the development of Hammond. If Hammond is good enough to slide Walt to the 4. Quote
lanigan123 Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Only first half of junior film. His build is bigger than I originally thought. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RtGXlEUZg3g Quote
