Well, we've gotten a little messed up in the voting.

Webster is the runaway winner to start at point.  Gallegos the runaway winner to start at the off-guard.

Someone that knows more than me(which doesn't take much) can correct me, but I thought that I read somewhere that Webster had struggled some at PG in some of the games he played before he came over here.  So, I guess I would be surprised if he starts at PG if this is true.  Although, with Biggs being suspended for the first couple games, he may start there by default.

Or Tai starts but Ray brings it up the court.

What is so cool as there will lots of competition for a starting spot and don't think anyone is guaranteed a starting spot this year.  Guys like Ray and Shavon who started last year will be pushed to keep their starting spots.  It's so awesome to start seeing some depth at every position.  Depending on if Miles wants to go with a bigger lineup or not, he would be my best guess.

Webster

Gallegos

Petteway

Shields

Pitchford

Or if wants to do with bigger lineup

Webster

Petteway

Shields

Pitchford

Smith

Either way, we will definitely be more athletic and fun to watch than last year's team.

Is anyone's crunch time players different from their starters?

Potentially Biggs could be a crunch time player.  He definitely was in high school and able to make plays in cruticial times.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pitch and Smith share all of the minutes at the 5 and play little elsewhere.  From what we saw of him last year I can't imagine Vooch playing all that much.

I'm most interested in seeing how Ray, Webster, Parker and Biggs (Peltz?!) are used between the 1 and 2 spots.  Will Petteway play the role that Talley did last year?

Fuller seems like a someone you'd want on the court at the end if you need a 3.

Crunch time players are a bit of guess right now.  But it is fantastic fodder for discussion.  I look for experience and ice in the veins.  Best guess...

- Gallegos, been around and has no issue with taking shots

- Biggs, my memory of him is that he has no hesitation wanting the ball in pressure situations

- Webster, given his international experience, he has the big game back ground

- Shields, I will go to war with this kid any time, any place.

The fifth...Petteway, Smith, Pitchford, Rivers...don't know yet.

Biggs is a back-up at best IMO. He is a spark plug off the bench but dont see him ever starting at Nebraska but thats not a bad thing either. 6th or 7th man for NU.

where are you putting benny parker then?
Hanging out with Craig Smith, Kenya Hunter, Chris Harriman, and Tim Miles.

Sorry. I meant to vote this up, but pushed the wrong arrow. I'm on my iPhone...
