Webster, usually a shooting guard, took the point guard duties for the Pistons after just two games when the side ditched import guard Vernon Hamilton and replaced him with small forward Garrius Holloman.

His inexperience showed at times, along with his undoubted talent, as he averaged 18.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. The learning curve was a steep one but it should produce dividends during his college career as he is also expected to fill a point guard role at Nebraska.

"They're expecting me to take the reins," Webster said, while he can also expect to see some time at shooting guard as he looks to find a place in the team in his freshmen year.

That suits Webster, who burst on to the international scene last year with the Tall Blacks.

"I'd like to see myself become a point guard," he said. "But wherever the team needs me to be, I'll be.

"It was definitely good for me to play point for the Pistons. It was good to play against men, instead of playing against boys. It was a good learning experience."

Pretty sure that New Zealand is across the Intl date line, so 7-13-13 is good even tho we sit on 7-12-13 right now.

You would be correct, if you go visit there you lose a day somewhere over the ocean.

Thanks for the greeting, Cip.  I've been hanging around here a long time but dont post at all, obviously.  Pretty hard to match wits about MBB with the likes of the regulars on this board.  BUT I absolutely appreciate the info and knowledge that is shared here.  I check in 4-6 times a day at minimum.

I wish I was back in Lincoln to see this coming year unfold for Nebrasketball.  It should be a good ride.

Yes, it should be fun watching this team develop, and welcome to the dungeon! (Did we ever get that name changed yet?)

The last I heard, it was gonna be called Cip's S & M  (salsa and meat).  Things could have changed by now, so don't quote me on this.....

Not really. If you're in a coma, it might be a bit of a challenge, but otherwise it's an easy swim. Welcome!

Fixed that for ya. :)
