Tim Miles and Iowa Fans

I attended the game yesterday in Iowa City and sat right behind our bench. There were some things I thought I share. 

 

Benny Parker was at the free throw line when the Iowa student section was chanting "Gary Coleman", he turns around to all us husker fans and says "I doubt he knows who Gary Coleman is."

 

Another time he was arguing with the ref hardcore while nebraska was inbounding the ball right in front of him, he was in between our player and the ref. The ref on accident meant to throw the ball to our player to inbound but threw it to tim not realizing it then started counting the 5 seconds. He hands the ball to our player and turns around to all of us and says "He's just flustered."

 

Now onto the Iowa fans:

 

I do not know if tim gets yelled at this bad anywhere he goes, but there were many things yelled at him

I heard many people yelling "You will not last in this league Miles" to "The refs in this league will eat you up." Also when Andre got his intentional foul (bad call) there were many people yelling at him saying that "It was on him" and on guy yelling "That's a dirty play Miles and you told him to do that." There were many other things yelled but those were the big ones. I do not like Iowa fans at all and I hope we keep dominating them in sports.

When you mention super bowl around Colorado fans, they're not thinking athletic contests....

Don't worry Cip, I got the Buffalosers covered here in the PAC-12. My football seats are right next to the visitor section so I got a little damp from the crying when CU came to the desert.

It doesn't sound as if Iowa fans are much different than anywhere else.  You are going to have fodder on opposing players and some use that fodder better than others.  I think the fans that created the most angst were the antlers @ Missouri.  I believe it was Brian Carr that went into the stands after a fan once...I may be wrong, and there may be others, but those dudes were plain nasty...and they are ugly on top of it.

I thought Colorado fans (throwing beer bottles and snowballs at football games) were the worst until I met Arizona State fans. They drink like Colorado fans, talk like Creighton fans, and think they have a résumé like USC football. The Tucson PD hauls them off, zip-tied like bags of garbage, from every football game. The only fans I've met who were more obnoxious were two Nevada fans when Nebraska played in Vegas, and with a sample size of two I can't yet evaluate the whole fan base of Nevada.

I thought the "Over-weighted" chant was pretty amusing.

 

Hopefully Andre didn't mind.  I'm sure he's heard a lot worse.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were multiple episodes in Columbia.  I'm pretty sure Carl McPipe and Andre Smith went after some antlers in the late 70's.
