Indeed, OSU is maybe the best there is at putting on pressure, but NU is about as bad as anyone I can recall seeing at handling it!  Yes, the difference in athleticism is also the cause of that, but the program needs to learn how to handle pressure better in all games (particularly the full court).  This game turned out about as bad as I had feared.  However, NU hopefully picks up the pieces and goes on a really nice run of W's going into the Conf. tournament!  There certainly is no one of the caliber of OSU- or even Iowa- left on the schedule, so it can be done.  GBR!!  🌽🏀

I was wondering if Coach Williams ever considered watching game film with her team on how OSU puts on a full court press?  She had to know OSU was going to press her team. That was the most embarrassing attempt at trying to just get the ball over half court that I've ever witnessed.  It was like a varsity team pressing the 7th graders.  That's what I've  always loved about her teams. One game they look like a top 25 team and the next game they look like the 320th team. There's never been much consistency with her teams at NU.  Oh well, on to the next game and hope we look like a top 25 team.

Agreed. That was difficult to watch. I hope this team can just flush that game and concentrate on Purdue. That was a very good team, for what it's worth, and I predict it will be them and South Carolina in the championship.

Just watched some highlights on youtube. While I like Hake's improvement. She does struggle with better teams. At 5'8", she often get herself in trouble in the paint and does not make good decisions with pressure defense and OSU is about tough as we will see.

I think Hake will be solid in the next couple of years, but I agree that she makes poor decisions in pressure situations. She's young. They need her shooting, so if she can clean up the turnovers and become a smarter defender, I think she could be significant next year. Clearly, White isn't 100%, but you have to give her credit for trying. Whether it's her injury, or the brace, she didn't have the quickness or agility that she normall has, and I'm sure she was hesitant to make sharp moves if she has a knee injury. My guess is they are probably trying to ride out the season, and she will have surgery afterwards, because they can't really afford to finish the schedule with another person down. Nissley is improving every game. I think she will get more minutes in these next few weeks. She looks confident.
