Red Don Posted February 1, 2024 Report Posted February 1, 2024 I would but I don't think they show up on the 'Game Stats' page (I just take a screen-shot of the Game Stats @ the Link to post during games). Quote

mwm89 Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 (edited) Good job by the ladies to take care of business and get a needed W at home. Not flashy, but it was a physical game with a lot of scrappy defense by both sides. The Huskers were hustling and really playing hard. Alexis was big in the 1st half with her points in the paint, and we got key contributions from White and Potts particularly to help balance things out. Next up another home "must have" vs. RU on Sat. with a short turnaround. They are winless in conf. play at the moment, and we don't want to be their first, esp. since we are at home. We'll have to be tough, scrappy and determined again. GBR!! Edited February 2, 2024 by mwm89 Cazzie22 1 Quote

Krull makes me really nervous. really, i want her to do good when she is in there, but, i just don't think she should be one of the first off the bench and definitely not starting. KM needs to be first off the bench or if coach wants that other option for starter. nissley has a ways to go. good shooter, but, her passing needs much work. especially when she gets caught around the basket. coach needs to reign Hake in a bit. i love her aggressiveness, however, she has to know to stay out of certain situations when driving the ball. can't throw up a shot that has about a 5% chance of going in. MOST of the time, defenses have closed in on her pretty fast. right now, her best game is around the perimeter. i was thinking Potts may have hit a wall.......but, i think she'll be just fine. i have joined with many of you.........this subbing stuff. ugh. just had to release a little steam.....even on a nice win. Oh,,,,,,,and Hud, you may have won the battle of discussion on Illinois.....even though they did spank Michigan and have lost a lot of close games. I have not posted for awhile partly because in retrospect in my mind I was getting too negative especially after a loss. Woopdeedoo has summed up my feelings very well with this post above. I think the team going forward may have found the missing 5th starter they so badly need. If K. Moriarity can keep her game at a some what consistent level we would have the player that gives us what we have been lacking at the 3 position. That being size and length, ability to drive to the hoop and good defense. I was at the game and really enjoyed watching the team rally several times getting to a 10 pt. 2nd qtr lead and then unfortunately giving up most of it due to the aforementioned questionable substitution with 3 minutes left before half. Same thing happened in the third quarter as well but the timeout coach took did stop the Purdue rally and started another rally for us. Going forward it would be nice to go 5-3 for seeding purposes but 4-4 is a necessity. P.S. I would give a lot for an upset of Iowa. Huskerpapa Posted February 2, 2024 Author Report Posted February 2, 2024 Right now, our huskers appear to be firmly inside the NCAA tournament bracket. Right now, our huskers have zero "bad losses." Sooo. Here is my simple minded and humble opinion. We are a pretty good team. We can be even better, and that is a good thing as we move towards the February grind. Hit your bunnies, limit the asinine passes and we will move to another level. Small adjustments rather than major overhaul is all that is necessary. Quite frankly, a lot of teams would love to be where we are right now. NUtball, KLamp21, Bugeaters1 and 3 others 3 3 Quote

It's not like we are playing at full capacity and losing games. We are WINNING games when we play to our potential, and we seem to be getting better and better, so I see an upside here. And the fact that the coaches are reflecting and willing to make changes is positive in my opinion, so I actually feel hopeful about where we are. As long as we are improving and playing our best basketball in March, nothing else really matters. Red Don 1 Quote
All About the Corn Posted February 2, 2024 Report Posted February 2, 2024 I also would not be surprised if Krull is back in the starting line up on Saturday. I never heard and maybe nothing was said as to Hake taking her place. Outside of a injury I do not see Amy changing the starters. I do know sometimes players have not started due to a team violation. So maybe Maddie committed a small error in judgement? Regardless as long as we can keep winning the games we should and maybe win one or two that are 50-50 or have a upset think making the NCAA dance would be pretty solid. Cazzie22 and Red Don 2 Quote
