Cazzie22 Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Minnesota is playing harder than we are. Loose balls, going after rebounds and scrambling is superior to us. NUtball 1 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 As physical as the game is being allowed we had better be happy to win and nit getting g anyone else injured. Quote

Cazzie22 Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Maryland will toy with us if we keep making these silly mistakes. Take care of the basketball! Quote
Red Don Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 I don't understand why there is always a foul against Nebraska when Minnesota is fighting for 2nd chance points, but none called at the other end. 16 FTs for Minnesota, only 8 for Nebrasaka. I guess we Must be the (much) More Aggressive team! NUtball, Cazzie22 and mwm89 1 2 Quote
Cazzie22 Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Get Sam out of the game before she gets hurt. Can’t understand why Bourne can’t make a free throw. We have had to play the starters too many minutes because Minnesota plays so hard and aggressive. Red Don 1 Quote

swmckewon Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Minnesota is just a hard team for Nebraska to play. If that program ever figures itself out - not sure it will, frankly - it’ll be pretty tough. mwm89 1 Quote

mwm89 Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Glad to get the W, however it worked out, though I didn't care for how the 4th looked. Maybe being .500 overall is enough for a WNIT bid in a shorter season? Unfortunate blow to have Ruby injured. GBR! Cazzie22 1 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Good win over the Gophs, now as a 'bonus' the Huskers get to face the Terps. Good luck. mwm89, Red Don and Cazzie22 1 2 Quote
NUtball Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Jekyll & Hyde game. Looked real good for stretches and completely lost for other stretches. Full-strength Minnesota probably would have won for the third time. Hopefully they can keep it within shouting distance against Maryland, but that won't happen unless they eliminate the sloppy play. redsteve Posted March 10, 2021 Author Report Posted March 10, 2021 Minn's aggressiveness and uncalled fouls had more to do with the outcome being somewhat close, than anything. They're like the bully on the playground. If the refs let a team beat up the other team, then all other things being equal, the bully will usually win...and it's on the refs, and we still lose. We just play "softer", less aggressive than some teams. Minn intentionally beats up on people a bit more than just "B1G physical play". Any word on Porter? Look like it could be bad. mwm89 and Red Don 2 Quote

The Huskers will next face No. 1 seed Maryland at 10 a.m. Thursday. Sam Haiby had a team-high 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists in Wednesday's win. Kate Cain put up 16 points and brought down six rebounds. Issie Bourne contributed 14 points and seven rebounds. Minnesota’s top three leading scorers — Jasmine Powell, Kadi Sissoko and Sara Scalia — were unavailable due to injury. Quote

I don’t like to complain about officiating but they did allow Minnesota to be very physical. They would knock over our screener and not be called for it. Again, you have to adjust to how the game is being called. Players can be hurt though. mwm89 1 Quote

Both women's and men's teams are regularly are on the short end of the stick regarding physical play. If Nebraska tries to turn up the physicality, the whistles start blowing like there's no tomorrow. Almost every Nebraska sports program has been hosed by officiating since joining this godforsaken conference. Quote
