hhcmatt Posted January 21, 2020 Report Posted January 21, 2020 Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-11) vs Wisconsin Badgers (13-4) Date: Tuesday Jan 21th, 2020 Time: 8:00 p.m. Arena: Kohl Center (17,287, 18th largest in D-I) Broadcast: BTN Wisconsin Info Head Coach: Greg GardLocation: Madison, WIConference: B1GNickname: Badgers Mascot: Bucky BadgerLine: Wisconsin by 15.5 Typical Rotation Depth: 9 KenPom rank: 22 KenPom home court advantage calculation: Home court advantage: 3.3 (140th in D-I) Offensive Style: Slowly shootin' 3s Defensive Style: securing offensive rebounds/not fouling Key Injuries: None Players to watch: Nate Reuvers The Junior guard is another in the line of mobile Wisconsin centers who can make 3s. Additionally he's an excellent shot blocker Players to watch: Micah Potter The Badgers have been integrating Potter into the offense since he became eligible mid-semester and offensively he's been a boost as he takes the load from Reuvers. Typically the two centers don't play together. Like Reuvers, Potter is a capable outside shooter. Roster points PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 0 D'Mitrik Trice6-0 184 Jr 23 Kobe King6-4 205 So 34 Brad Davison6-4 206 Jr 2 Aleem Ford6-8 217 Jr 35 Nate Reuvers6-11 235 Jr 17.5 Trice is the PG but has really struggled from outside in conference. Charge enthusiast Brad Davison also has struggled from outside. He remains a dead eye FT shooter Kobe King is interesting as the guard who shoots most everything is inside the arc Ford, like most everyone else, hasn't been lighting it up from outside Sr shooting guard Brevin Pritzl remains an elite 3pt shooter and stout defender 6'7" Freshman Tyler Wahl spells Akeem Ford at the 4 without skipping a beat Jr guard Trevor Anderson is guard depth The Skinny: Reuvers and Potter will be the focus of the defense tonight as they are the most aggressive part of the Badgers' swing offense. It seems unlikely that Nebraska has the answer for this offense and even if they do,they have the will to implement it for 25-30 seconds of shot clock. Wisconsin missing a LOT of threes seems like one of the few chances the Huskers have in this one. Will anything change personnel wise for Nebraska if Potter and Reuvers play at the same time? On offense the Huskers will find that Wisconsin is going to run them off the 3pt line towards their shot blockers. Decision making on those drives will be critical. Fast break points most likely will be non-existent so the Huskers will need to earn them tonight. Typically I think the Huskers play harder after a loss but this Wisconsin team seems like a bad matchup. Prediction: Wisconsin 72 - Nebraska 55 View full article Shawn Eichorst's Toupee 1 Quote
Handy Johnson Posted January 21, 2020 Report Posted January 21, 2020 Our 5-9 stretch run begins TONIGHT...! I have so little to cling to, at LEAST allow me a 12-20 season record. Quote
Mr. Red Posted January 21, 2020 Report Posted January 21, 2020 Haven't watched any Wisconsin games this year. Have the new flopping rules slowed Brad Davison down at all? Can one of you advanced stats guru's out there post Brad Davison's charge taken averages from 17-18, 18-19, and now 19-20? Would be interesting to see Quote
Cazzie22 Posted January 21, 2020 Report Posted January 21, 2020 The Ohio St. transfer might be difficult for us to handle tonight. Quote

Prediction: Wisconsin 72 - Nebraska 55View full articleI suspect some cut and paste issues, here. First, the Badgers are 11-7. Second, they are the Badgers, not the Hoosiers, and they will go 9 deep. And Armaan Franklin is not a Badger. Kobe King is far from an exclusive outside shooter-he's the slasher-type of player. He is a mid-range shooter, however. hhcmatt 1 Quote

That was obviously a typo. Why would I go out of my way to mention a guard on Wisconsin who shoots 3s as this describes every other guard who is not King. P.S. This was corrected in the original post yesterday after you noted it. Quote
