Came through in the clutch. Nice to have upper classmen on the team as a stabilizing force. They're the commodity in college basketball. Have to keep talent around to make a difference in the program.

What happened to "Up Tempo"? Where's the bench? (Gill, Okeke, McVeigh) Jim Palmer? Yeah yeah 1st game & all that. This is NOT what I had hoped to see.

Surprisingly solid, veteran E Illinois team. Weathered the rocky storm, hopefully scared the young guys a bit. Clean up on the FTs and shooting in practice and keep going. 

 

And definitely don't schedule a directional Illinois team again. They're a good test for the guys, but dangerous to derail things if we drop one...

i'm not going to panic. we shot terribly across the board. i don't believe we'll shoot 38-31-59 all season long.

Most important thing is that we  got the W and not the L.  Learn, work harder, play better, keep it going.

Well, one things for sure, well have a heck of a lot of practice in close games this year, even more than usual.

Even if they don't... we got the result we needed.  A W against a bad Mid Major is a lot better than an L to a decent Mid Major.
