We still have one more game before we finish up our non-conference schedule, but I really don't see these rankings changing much. I was curious to look at "Stat" per minute figures. I'm not overly shocked by some of the heavy-hitters, but there are some interesting insights to pull from this. Breaking the data down this way helps show player efficiency in a different light and eliminates playing time as a factor. Just note, these are not "actual" values shown below, these are the rankings of our roster per statistical figure. #1 is the highest and #11 would be the lowest (e.g. PTS/MIN, #1 would be the player with the most points per minute and #11 would be the player with the least points per minute).

I'm curious to hear your thoughts/insights from this data.

Jordy's stats per minute played probably go down if he's a starter because he'll be sharing more of that time with Ed and Tai and Glynn, etc.  So, because he's starting, Michael's stats are artificially low compared to Jordy's.  Have to keep that in mind.

Nevertheless, what this tells me is that the guys who are starting are pretty much the guys who should be starting, and the first 2-3 guys off the bench are pretty much the guys who should be the first 2-3 off the bench.  There's room in the middle to do some switching back and forth, but the three guys that we all knew were our best players clearly are our best players and should be starting.  Outside of those 3 guys, I see some opportunities for shuffling players in and out of the starting lineup and maybe giving other guys a chance.

Depending on the amount of free time you have I'd suggest a KenPom subscription as the entire basis for what he does is tempo free stats

My observation (without research to verify) is that assists are too low.  Lots of driving to the basket, but most always a shot and not much drop offs to posts or out to shooters.  Three point shooting has suffered, and good passing and inside out passes generally help that.  I have thought for years that lack of a playing making assist guard is one of the team's biggest deficiencies.

Part of that is the fact we shoot 29% from 3, and 40% from the floor.  Some of the passes we make, result in a missed shot.
