I hope you didn’t find a place that would take that bet or you are sweating bullets right about now Norm

That steal by Hoiberg was surreal. I’m still coming down from that play. Wow. -

When Northwestern’s two best returning players portalled (is that a word?) out, I figured they would be Minnesota level. In my opinion Collins should be COY in the BIG. Floored by the job he has done with their team. -
Can I give that more than one up arrow Norm? Last year had to be so aggravating for Keisei. I remember many times he was wide open on the wing and Bryce/Verge wouldn’t even look at him.

He has the physical traits you are looking for. It all depends if he mentally would buy into that role like Bando. -
SJSU is a brutally difficult job. Tim is doing way above and beyond what I expected. I am really happy for him. He handled himself with class here.

This is apt. Our team reminds me of some of the Oklahoma State teams Eddie Sutton cobbled together every year.

Walker looks like a non-Adams college tri-lamb. my favorite comedy of all time. I watch it at least once a year.

2023 SG Parker Friedrichsen -> Wake Forest...for now

I dunno…did he really leave us at the alter? We slow played the shit out of him if I remember everything correctly. Harrison Phillips style (sorry for going football here) He came here on his own when he was a nobody in the national scene. I believe Matt A finally offered. Probably because he got his 4th star. It’d be like an unattractive girl throwing herself at you and you don’t give her the time of day, and then she blossoms into an hottie and you get mad she goes off with someone else. -

I love this version of Nebrasketball. Just a fun, fun group of kids to watch. I’ve thought about the what if with injuries . We miss their defense and rebounding for sure. But the reason we are seeing Keisei going off and Sam Hoiberg emerging as a valuable player is because of those injuries. You could probably add Lawrence in there too. My hope is that when Gary returns next year he will blend in with the guys and we keep this thing going. -

From everything I heard, Chucky was coming to Nebraska until Tim Miles was fired. He didn’t know Fred so I don’t blame him for going to the Badgers. It is a stable, good program versus the unknown of Fred. And honestly, do you think he would have stayed after the first three shitshow years of Fred? Chucky would fit in well with THIS version of Nebrasketball. Not sure he would be interested but I’d love to see him (and Traudt) come home. That’d fill two big holes. -
UConn is a fixture in the top 10 NET and KenPom and they are 6th in the Big East. They have a winning record vs quad 1 but that still surprises me that they stay that high.

Damn, is that a George’s Niang clone? Even looks a bit like him. I would love to have this kid in the front court paired with Rice.

Now if our football team can emulate our hoops team’s success against Wisconsin everything will be good. -
Do we have a shot here? Sounds like some big players are involved.

It’s doubtful KT will sniff the NBA, but him not playing more before the injuries is one of the things that irritated me about Fred. I could tell from watching Tominaga that he was a very heady player and did a lot of the little things right. Always moving, ball never stuck when he had it, good passer. But one mistake and he was banished to the bench for the rest of the game. At the same time Bryce had a leash about 10 miles long. The injuries (and Wilcher being a hot mess) forced Fred’s hand in playing Keisei. I’ll be honest…I can give a crap if a kid has NBA potential. You don’t need that to be a great college player.

That would have changed the game a lot. If I recall correctly he ended the first half with 2 fouls. That third would have been huge. -

Agreed. Losing Bando really hurts on the perimeter defense. He is an A+ defender. Way better than I expected him to be. Dickinson has always been a nightmare matchup for us. Massive dude we have to double to stop who is also an excellent passer. Double him, he finds open shooters. Don’t double, it’s like me playing against a 4th grader. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t with that guy. -
If you told me before the season that we would win 13 games (A little assuming here) against one of the ten toughest schedules in the country while missing your star player for the first 6 games AND suffering two massive injuries but the team was disciplined, played hard and it made sense to the fans what they were trying to accomplish schematically, I would have accepted it. Trev wanted improvement in effort, toughness and discipline to keep his job. I think we are seeing it, as well as the on-court results of those things.

The thing that intrigues me about Quaran is he had an offer from Ed Cooley. If you have ever watched Providence, they are tough, physical kids. He looks the part and Ed Cooley liked him….I want to see what he brings to the table. I just hope he fully recovers from his knee injury. -

What happened to Tominaga towards the end? I saw they were working on him in the corner. Was it cramps or did he step on someone’s foot? -

Fred did an excellent job managing our rotation this game. It’s almost like he has figured out who our reliable players are. Lawrence really has taken a big step forward. Sam Hoiberg is such a breath of fresh air…the kid is a very smart player. Walker is still struggling a bit but we need the big guy. I thought Fred did an excellent job of minimizing the negative plays when Wilcher and Breidenbach were in. As soon as the bad plays started happening the core guys came back in. Really one of the best jobs managing the game that Fred had done here.
