  1. Matt Thomas was the first player who came to my mind as well. I know I am type casting a bit…Top 150 6’4” white kid from Wisconsin that can bomb threes. I don’t think Matt was a lefty but a lot of similarities in the role I envision on our team. Nick may have more game inside the arc than Matt but time will tell.
  2. The American Tominaga? Doesn’t really have a ring to it…. I am thrilled (shocked?) how well the last week of recruiting has been going. I hope we can keep the momentum rolling into next season.
  3. There weren’t a lot of us at the time my man! But that’s okay….last offseason was a pretty dark time so I get the negativity during that stretch. For me it’s not about being right or wrong about the kid. I am just so happy that things worked out where Tominaga had an opportunity to show us what he could do (and take advantage of it). What is great is that everyone loves Keisei now, and I hope he feels that love and it leads him to playing one more year in Lincoln. He’s one of my all time favorites to play in Lincoln.
  4. I hear ya. Until proven otherwise, Sam has earned his spot in the eight man rotation. He made some insanely clutch plays for us last year. Very much a glue guy in my book. Dude has some serious heart.
  5. Also, I like Quaran and want him to be like what I imagine. Last offseason I felt like the only guy that really liked Keisei, but my eyes told me he could be a player if the team played like a team. There were flashes there. With Quaran, I am really high on him but have zero to base it in other than body language and demeanor.
  6. Did Sam Hoiberg get hit by a truck? Or am I missing something?
  7. I suppose it’s like asking a girl out on a date, but letting her know you are only taking her out of a different girl you prefer turns you down. It has to be quite flattering.
  8. I may be in the minority here but I don’t want a PG in training. Hunter may very well develop into a playmaking PG but I’d really like to see another established PG as well.
  9. Senior with two years…Covid year I assume
  10. To me Wrightsell screams combo guard, and I want a true (and established) point guard in a perfect world. That’s why Glynn Watson was my favorite recruit of the Tim Miles era. Wrightsell slots more into the Keisei/Lawrence role in my opinion.
  11. His offensive numbers look good. Having never seen him play in college, I wonder if he plays defense like his dad.
  12. Watching his film, his game looks like what I hoped Wilcher would look like. Plus he is taller. I would love to see this one happen. Pretty easy to see how he would fit in.
  13. Lok Wur has perhaps the greatest film I have ever seen. No joke.
  14. Calling total BS on that article. It said we made 100% of our threes. This is Nebrasketball. I wasn’t born yesterday.
  15. The 4th place Big East team won it all. I guess Kenpom did know something after all. UCONN is very talented but didn’t put it together until the end of the season. Exactly what you want to happen to make a deep tournament run. I wish we would click at the end of the season one of these years…just friggin ONCE.
  16. Please don’t mention medical teams not clearing players. I’m still in therapy about that.
  17. In a perfect world I’d like to see us average 2 high school kids a year so 8 of our 13 would be traditional recruits. I’d like to see 3 of the kids be multi year transfers, and then the last couple for portal seniors each year to fill team needs. We’d probably have kids portal out too, so maybe it would be closer to 3 high school kids a year. I think it is important to have some semblance of stability on the roster or it would be hard to maintain a culture imo.
  18. I’d say offer his girlfriend an NIL deal because she must be a pretty good volleyball player. Problem is we are the Alabama of volleyball so we wouldn’t make room for a good player on our team. She’d have to be elite.
  19. They did the exact same thing to Alabama. It’s not as simple as “if team X” just shot better. San Diego State’s game is making the game a rock fight in the mud. I’m told the guy I was watching with that SDSU wants a 60-58 game. They were able to make the game the way they wanted/needed it. A lot of that was insane levels of effort and scrappiness. That’s been their culture for a long time. Honestly, Nebraska with Gary and Bando was that kind of team.
  20. You swallow it unless it is an egregious foul, especially with how physical they let game get. If we were playing and Sam Hoiberg got called for a foul on the same play I would have been furious.
  21. Same here. All you have to do is look at Creighton. The majority of their kids are typical recruits. Each year they add a handful of transfers that fill a need they have on their roster. Baylor is their only high impact transfer and Farabello is a role player that doesn’t add much at all to their offense. Their transfers fit into their team concept so it works. When I look at our roster, we have some good pieces and it seems like our kids really buy into what the current staff wants to do. If we can secure a big and a point guard that are good fits, we could have a pretty darn good year. Especially if the OOC is more reasonable.
