  1. if you are going to get killed on the boards you absolutely have to take care of the ball and win the turnover battle.
  2. I love that this team has options and we aren’t reliant on a single guy to carry us any given night. Mast and CJ were feeling it and we kept getting them the ball. I thought we played very well as a team. When KT missed two 2 pt shots in a row it just looked like he wasn’t feeling it to me so it didn’t bother me that Fred was playing the lineup that was clicking at that moment in time. But to Dean’s point, KT can heat up at anytime. And I think he only played 14 minutes, had a couple assists, a steal and no turnovers. It wasn’t like he was playing terrible. But it sure is nice we have other guys that can get it done. I also thought Brice stepped up his intensity this game too. To my eyes he looked much better on defense.
  3. The Wisconsin Badgers own the rights to Jeffrey Dahmer. It would be criminal to take him away from them….they deserve each other! Love the theme by the way
  4. Oh, and freaking awesome to beat these guys! This was starting to have the feeling of a typical northwestern game where we let it slip away.
  5. Sometimes it seems to me that Brice doesn’t play within the team concept. He lacks intensity with his defense and passing and seems to be more Interested in hunting his own shots. The ball has a tendency to stick when it gets in his hands. He has a lot of tools to like but I am not sure you can teach someone to be a fierce competitor. Thank goodness for KT. He was nails at the end. It is frustrating that we go minutes where we don’t run anything for him…heck, he doesn’t even touch the ball during stretches on offense. To me you want him at least touching it to give the defense something to think about since he is our most dangerous player.
  6. Allick absolutely abused Iowa’s stud freshman. He was the only guy who brought his A game. Rice showed some nice flashes on offense but his defense showed why he doesn’t play more. He looked like a confused freshmen. He’ll figure it out with experience. Brice Williams is maddening. His defense is lousy. The frustrating thing is he has the tools to be very effective on D. When we tied the game up he basically turned it back into a double digit lead for Iowa. Anyways, it was a road game we were supposed to lose so time to put it in the rear view mirror.
  7. Absolutely freaking phenomenal game. Nothing much to add that hasn’t been said but it was awesome how different guys stepped up at different times just when we needed them. So glad I got to see this game!!!!
  8. It always appeared to me that the staff favored Oudrago over Cross. I suspect Cross left as he was reading the writing on the wall with the Matt A recruits and Walker becoming eligible.
  9. In a few years he’ll be a man among boys out there
  10. Putting Sam on Walker was enormous. That really turned the game around. If I was coach I would switch Sam and Lawrence’s roles. Sam makes very few mistakes and Jamarcus….well, yeah.
  11. I’m starting to really dislike Brice as a player. The overall team ball handling was atrocious. Just disgusting basketball in the second half. I should probably just stop now….
  12. I noticed that too and you won’t find a bigger Tominaga fan than me. Playing wise, he was the only guy on our team that looked like he knew he could compete with those guys. The moment wasn’t too big for him at all. However, he needs to knock off the looking at the ref when he doesn’t get a call crap and bust his ass back on defense. Fred’s job is to work the ref. He needs to remember what made our run the second half of last year was the team competed with an edge and got after the other team. I hope he gets refocused on the right things. Starting tonight!
  13. This is the type of game where you throw the tape in the trash and move on. This was the same type of game Creighton lost to Colorado State. They bounced back and we need to do the same.
  14. Jamarcus has really turned the corner as a PG. Early on he was struggling with the role and it makes me wonder if that spilled over into his shooting. His passing has improved significantly the last 3 games. I am glad we have had a relatively easy schedule to give him time to adjust to his new role. It will be interesting to see how he looks by seasons end.
  15. I didn’t realize Cross was tearing it up for Tulane to start the year. Not sure the competition level he has played but statistically he is killing it.
  16. The one thing I would add is Creighton seems less hectic (back to the OP) because McDermott is okay with guys taking shots they aren’t good at. If you are a crappy three point shooter, he’ll give you that shot and dare you to make it. I do like that we force midrange baseline shots but I also agree with letting crappy shooters shoot versus scrambling just because. I wonder if our coaches are trying to build the defensive intensity in our kids so they have them going full bore all the time?
  17. Arthur Kaluma was pretty bad for K State. I really hope we beat those guys.
  18. We do have one game on BTN plus in December. I believe the North Dakota game on the 20th. I am signing up for BTN+ later this week…lots of games this year.
  19. @ Iowa @ Rutgers Wisconsin at home Creighton at home Those 4 plus a win in the conference tourney would put us in pretty good position I would think. I think a Hunter Dickinson-less Michigan may be there for the taking too.
  20. Even though he isn’t a pure PG he is a great get given the Uhlis situation. Great job by the staff!
  21. Man he looks like a helluva get for a late pickup. Love how fluid and athletic he is. Looks like he had offers from ASU, Pitt and Seton Hall so other teams saw something there too.
  22. Is this true?!?! Wow if it is….
  23. When Mikki got here he was listed 6’10” 180. I could not believe Nee didn’t redshirt him to develop his body. That was when Big Country and Ostertag were in the league…they literally had 100 lbs on him. If my memory serves me correctly (far from a sure thing) he played a total of 18 minutes that year. By the time his body matured he was a force. One of my all time favorites.
  24. I thought one of Juwan’s kids portalled in at the last second when I saw this thread.
