  1. Sigh... This is a horrible topic. We KNOW Nike OR Adidas doesn't make a team. Why are people using this as a defense to Adidas? Yes, they sponsor the two teams in the championship game. Does Nike still crush Adidas' share of the market? Yes. What does that mean? People prefer Nike.
  2. One of the kids from the group of Chicago visitors correct? Did Okafor eliminate Nebraska yet? (Not that we really had a shot)
  3. Thought this was pretty funny. Glad that Ware seems to be staying humble in the spotlight. Letterman's top 10 thoughts going through Ware's mind- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNeXWSxGx-0
  4. Too true. I'm all about breaking barriers and what not, but this is a ridiculous idea. If Cubez likes the idea so much maybe he should spend a draft pick on her.
  5. In regards to the title- That's what she said.
  6. This article was posted on a gopher message board....I liked it.... http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/eve...icle/id/67068/
  7. I need to as well, but I also read that thinking the worst. You would assume punishment for his actions would be internal. Why would miles say once it was settled he would make an announcement?
  8. This is a good topic. Did Doc ever have a stable roster? Lots of turnover through his tenure. I know a lot of the players supposedly left on their own, but in most cases it was hard to buy that excuse. I agree with concrete that it wouldn't be wise to intentionally save scholarships. I hope that we can start to see more players have a full career at NU, while at the same time not getting in a position where we constantly have "rebuilding" years.
  9. I just saw that. Incredible that he got away with it that long. There's no room for that in life. Plenty of ways to motivate people without breaking them down. I'm okay with a coach getting fired up and yelling at players to get a message across, but there is a line that shouldn't be crossed. I'll never understand the demasculinization tactic.
  10. And that's exactly why I love HHC. But, seriously, I really don't know spit.
  11. Interesting... I say go for it. Maybe he's grown up. He went to the same highschool I used to. If he was treated like Joe Krabbenhoft was back when I was there it makes sense why he has an attitude problem....buncho princesses.
  12. Saw that too... Interesting
  13. Tim Miles shoves 10 t-bone steaks down Serej's throat every day until he weighs more than 250.
  14. +1. Glad I'm not alone. I'd like to get the kid, but MAN I can't believe the discussion over him.
  15. $1 per credit hour tuition? + student fees.
  16. I'd be surprised since he shot down Illinois last year and VCU gave him that raise. Yeah, but the A10 is blowing up. Xavier and Butler are leaving this summer and St Louis and either Dayton or Richmond could be leaving the next summer. Maybe the instability of the A10 makes him a little more willing to look around? What looked like a great long term move last year suddenly seems significantly less secure. Good point. It's possible he jumps this year, but like someone else said UCLA would be the better gig. Speaking of Butler, does their coach finally leave this year?
  17. 49r must love Adidas I understand where you're coming from. Shoes don't make or break a program and to think that is ridiculous. However, if the question is what would most kids prefer to wear I think the answer is clearly Nike. They own an insane portion of the basketball shoe market.
  18. This was not in response to Kamdy, whose post above came in while I was still typing. It was in response to the fear that kids pick schools because of their shoe company affiliation. The shoe obsession is a funny thing. It sounds childish, but I have no doubt that SOME kids do pick based on athletic gear. If you go to some of the recruits from Chicago twitter pages you can see the amount of money they dump into shoes, specifically Jordans. I don't think that Nike has much more appeal than Adidas, but Jordan definitely does. The popularity of Jordan shoes is undeniable. There's a reason why they can charge 175+ per pair and still sell out instantly. Anyone know if Nike sponsored schools provide Jordan shoes? Or does the player use their personal gear and Nike is okay with it?
  19. I'd be surprised since he shot down Illinois last year and VCU gave him that raise.
  20. For once I like a player that people hate. Happy Craft got the call.
  21. Do Minnesota fans still have an excuse to call for Tubby's head?
  22. It's not just you...
  23. Not sure, but I would hope so. He started at ISU correct? I just figured an in-state kid getting attention from other D1 schools would get attention from NU.
  24. Remind me... How did we miss on Eikmeier again? I enjoyed watching him play in H.S. and he seemed like a kid that could play D1
