  1. Took the leap. While I'm a little concerned that I just jinxed our chances with Roby by getting rid of my Roby dunk avatar. I saw the elevator door before Hoiberg came out I told myself, there is my new avatar. Nice touch by the Athletic Dept. tricking out the elevator door.
  2. Good luck and best wishes young man. Appreciate your time here.
  3. Join the club, fellow Tech Dinosaur here. My wife has an Twitter account however and will be voting, so we discussed, and landed on #3. She likes how it has "Nebraska" at the ends and "Huskers" in the middle. Makes sense. If its going to be a block "N" rather it be smaller, and we like the state outline, so we also have #4 as option B. I can't wait to watch the future Husker teams that will grace this new floor, and hope they take this program to levels never seen here before. GBR!
  4. Its a message board, no one is perfect, emotions can run high (reason 1 I stay away from posting during a game ?). I had some choice words for Moos after his statement, or lack there of, after the BIG 10 tourney. Moos has handled this situation very well, especially the end result. I look forward to the press conference Tuesday.
  5. I like the current floor, the state outline with the star on Lincoln. Reminds me of the Danny Nee years when we were rolling. I'm not sure a court design is good for any wins. Its the team that uses the court that is most important, am'i'right?
  6. Happy dance time ? Here's to a future of happy dances for results on the court and not off. Good luck coach Hoiberg!!
  7. https://twitter.com/RobinWashut/status/1112034581849522176 Twitter blowin up. Looks like its happening. Welcome to the family coach!
  8. Can't say anything better than whats already been said in this thread. Very reflective, pensive evening for me. Good luck coach Miles, and thanks for all your hard work the last 7 years. Nothing but best wishes for your future.
  9. Had to log in at work real quick just to up vote this. ?
  10. I'm still in the camp that regardless of coach, the whole Nebraska basketball support and operations from top to bottom needs reviewed, and upgrades, process improvements implemented as needed. This try a new coach every 7, 8 years, rinse, repeat, rebuild, is tiresome. The administration needs to figure out a way to do things as good, or better, than the top programs in the country, and strive for that every day. If Marc Boehm can help the administration do that, then great!
  11. While this seems to point to Moos doing his due diligence, as he should. This makes me a bit uncomfortable, since we still have a coach preparing players for a game Wednesday. If we make a run in the NIT, this speculation may go on for a few weeks. Not sure its right.
  12. Wow, listing it all out like that really hits it home for me. Great post. This tells me Miles is the least of our problems. How can an athletic administration be so lacking. And folks think we're going to get a top coach to come here?
  13. You want to know why Nebraska is never any good in basketball, look right at the administrations. From the coaches they hire, to the administration support for the coaches (i.e. tim miles the last two years), I'll even throw out the Roburt Sallie mess (which doesn't happen if he is a football player). When our administration starts to take our basketball program seriously, then I will. Rant done.
  14. This was my concern with Moos and basketball. All his incentives are tied to fixing football. Pretty much every other way outlined on this board would have been a better way to handle than said statement. Miles deserves better. Nebraska basketball deserves better. Nebraska basketball fans deserve better.
  15. Pretty graceful stumble at the end. Even the head coach leaving it all out on the floor today. If that was me, I probably stay down with a broken hip or bruised ribs. While Maryland may very well beat the brave 8 tomorrow by 30 (we have to run out of gas at some point, right?). I give the team a lot of credit for their effort tonight.
  16. I'd bump NQS to 2. I'd also find a spot for the first game against Florida Gulf Coast, probably number 5 for me.
  17. Basnett has a great article with some quotes from Jon Crispin. (link) "It's hard to say what a program should do year-in and year-out, Crispin said Saturday. Because to have expectations of success, a consistent identity has to be established." I believe this is so true. No matter what happens I hope we can find that identity, recruit to it, and build a program. Not just for a good season every four or five years. I'm getting too old for these rebuilds. I'd be for retaining Miles if we got assurances that he explained to Moos what our identity is going to be going forward. Same goes for a new coach, lets do it a certain way and become better at it than anyone in the country. Having a couple of solid C's on the roster wouldn't hurt the process either, a'hem. ?
  18. Heard it was a packed house, that is awesome. Kudos to the fans for showing up for our Seniors and sending them out right.
  19. Let it be told and let it be written, today, will forever be known as no quit Sunday. Proud of the Nebraskaballers today.
  20. As fans, I hope we all can rise above the disappointing season and send the Seniors out right. I hope Miles gets a great ovation. It wasn't for lack of trying, or caring, it just didn't work out.
  21. How about Pete Bell? I heard he's learned from the recruiting mistakes he made at Western University. Might want a chance at another D1 job.
  22. So, I've been thinking, thought I'd throw this out there. Any thoughts on hiring a female coach, or coach male or female from D1 women's basketball or WNBA? I'm sure there are some good D1 women's basketball coaches out there. Are there any female D1 men's basketball coaches? I don't care what your gender, color, or creed is as long as you're a great coach.
  23. I usually like Sipple's stuff, seems to be a pretty pragmatic guy. I haven't been listening to his morning show this week (the ticket, 93.7) but I wouldn't' be surprised if there was some clarifications made (I believe he even updated his article). Context being such a huge part in this, I do not believe coach Miles needed to apologize. Unfortunately, at this point, speaking to media probably isn't the best choice. There isn't much he can say to make things better as this thing ends. I hate to say this, as I had such high hopes for coach Miles and wish he would have been our coach for a long time, I wish him well in his next opportunity.
  24. Still nervous about Moos hiring a basketball coach. He was brought here to fix football. Plus the fact that Nebrasketball has not been kind to coaching careers, probably does not endear us to a lot of coaches. With that in mind, I'm thinking it will be another guy I'll have to google when he's announced. I'm not saying that guy can't be successful. Just not sure it'll be the big splash name (Lue, Hoiberg, Matta, Altman, etc.). Good luck Mr. Moos, I'll have my fingers crossed. Winters around here aren't quite as cold when Nebraska basketball rolling.
  25. While I have my misgivings regarding Miles, Palmer, and Watson, there will be a Senior night, and I just hope all the criticism can be forgotten/forgave for an evening. Maybe we can even see Glynn smile, dude never looks like he's having much fun. After that game and the subsequent end of the season Miles and the Seniors will move on. They all did what they thought was right and gave it their all. Hopefully they, at least, can have a memorable Senior night.
