  1. Maybe there is a different set of rules. Look at the NFL combine. They don't use and extra step, it's just a straight two foot jump. You can watch clips of the guys doing it. And pretty much every position big and small has guys into the mid 30's. http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers Maybe this is some different type technique/measuring they/NBA combine are using. I thought flat footed start, 2-foot jump is the gold standard. If that's what they are testing, then I stand by my opinion that these are extremely pedestrian numbers, if not somewhat bad.
  2. Nonsense. Look at the NBA draft combine testing numbers in the link Dimes posted above. The Harrison twins from Kentucky, Andrew and Aaron, posted 26.5 and 28.5 respectively. Sam Dekker was 25.5. Terran Petteway was a 25 even. So, Michael Jacobson at over 30 inches is actually fairly impressive.
  3. Those are still extremely pedestrian for a no-step vertical. An athletic team should have almost all the guys in the low to mid 30's.
  4. Smith transferred to a step below Big Ten. Evelyn does not pass the eye test so far. Neither are quality shooters. We lack quality shooters. This guy has a nice looking stroke.
  5. Why? He looks like he can actually handle the ball and score baskets.
  6. No disrespect, but I would take a guy like this 100 times over a guy like Evelyn or Tarin Smith.
  7. Lue's jumper was a lot more orthodox than Glynn's. There's a little stank on Glynn's shot and it comes out of his hand really funny at times. He might have more wiggle than Lue though. Will be interested to see if he makes a big leap from year 1 to year 2.
  8. Or about if we had Petteway and the sophomore version of Pitchford?
  9. 4 Senior's on 1st team...could've been 5.
  10. With the way this team is sputtering down the stretch it is going to be no surprise if we get bounced by Rutgers. This is not the same team right now that blew them out x2 earlier in the season.
  11. Not to resurrect an old topic, but just read that beer and wine will be served in premium seating areas for Florida Gators games for both for football and basketball games starting next season. This is becoming more and more commonplace.
  12. When we beat MSU, never would've imagined we'd be sitting here at 6-10 at this point. Would've laughed in somebody's face that told me that.
  13. Lulz
  14. I think this "balkdog" character might be lanigan123 from this board. Step away from the Twitter dude.
  15. *undrafted...stupid phone
  16. Might I add - a player that was on virtually no draft boards after his junior year, given a late 2nd round to indrafted projection by the committee. Maybe saying miles "encouraged" him to isn't accurate but not sure if was the voice of reason that his player needed.
  17. He was at the game last night. Kind of strange with how things went down, figured he wouldn't want to show his face around here for a while, let alone when he still could be suiting up for us. Not sure about top 25 but we sure as hell would have several more wins right now with Petteway. Would've been nice to roll out a Watson/petteway/shields/white/Pitchford lineup. 3 legitimate all conference type players. You don't see that often and there is no doubt we would've been hard to defend. I think Miles inexperience dealing with NBA talent/early entries is partially at fault. No way would Bo Ryan or Izzo encouraged Terran to jump.
  18. Yeah, if we get to 11-7 we are in regardless IMO. 10-8 might need to snag a win or 2 in conference tourney. 9-9, guaranteed we are in NIT, lead pipe lock.
  19. Also makes me wonder how dumb these players are for Oklahoma that decided to forego the draft and come back to school. Their team is just awful and this is in now way helping their pro stock. Don't they realize how they are now too old to be desirable to NBA teams? And I mean shoot, Spangler could've gotten $50k on a training camp contract and been set for at least 8 months. What a dummy!
  20. Watching this OU game makes me wonder how long he would've lasted there had he honored his commitment.
  21. Awesome idea man! Would totally mess with their minds. You are obviously a fountain of great ideas, let's keep them coming.
  22. It's a shame Yogi didn't declare for the draft. He is going to be way too old, 23, entering the draft and there was really no upside to him staying for his senior year at Indiana.
  23. Swan88 I don't mean to call you out, but that's just not accurate, at all. I honestly thought your post was pure sarcasm when read it.
  24. Ain't coming boys. Next!
