All the other sports are on campus or in UNL-owned venues outside of baseball - NU is dry campus so it's pretty much a non issue for all other sports other than MBB and WBB. Serve it at both those since they are played off campus. Hell add in baseball, I know I'd be more interested in sitting through a 4 hours snoozefest if I could have a beer with my hotdog. On an unrelated note, I'm a believer that the women should go back to playing in Devaney. Much better atmosphere for the smaller crowds they draw and connected directly to their locker rooms and practice facility. Sure, I'm sure it's kind of neat for them to be playing in a brand new building, but there is zero home court advantage there with a 1/3 full cave.

Agree with #GATA 100%. Eichorst will show us how much intelligence and business savvy he has, if he makes the right call on this. Board of Regents will rubber stamp it when asked for approval. Just a matter of Eichorst making the decision.

Have to remember...his whole team got suspended for robbing the bookstore or something like that. It could be that Miles knew he could contribute but couldn't toe the line and take that kind of player his first year on the job.

Guy would be starting or first off bench here. I'm sure he will have an impact at some point in his career there, but I think he also missed out on being part of something special here.

And I will go on record that I hate the Let's Play BIG RED BASKETBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL thing too. I think this guy just likes hearing the sound of his own voice. PA announcer's job is to get the crowd into it, not give himself a stiffy from hearing his own voice.

I liked at the open house dunk exhibition where Pitchford kept doing dunks. After each dunk PA guy would give out a WAL-TER PITCHFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD. Just kept saying it and nothing else. No adjective of the dunk, just kept the name on repeat. I think he has zero personality, and his delivery is awful. We can get somebody much better.

He's been doing the state basketball games at Devaney for years! Meant on a major scale, college/pro etc. What is Ray Clay doing these days, can we get him?

He is horrible. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he has essentially no experience doing this. Sounds like he should be announcing the title of an infomercial product instead of a player name. Would love if they had an NBA-style guy who was exciting/intimidating with his voice. This guy sounds like my dad trying to announce names.

I'm with Surles. Keep it simple. Aside from being slightly confusing, I think the name Dungeon has a very nerdy connotation and it's just a word you don't even see that often anymore unless you have a Sex Dungeon in your home, or play Dungeons and Dragons in your dimly lit basement on a Saturday night. Men's Basketball. Please. If this site ever broke some type of news or had an insider, I can't even imagine how cringeworthy it would be to see "Devaney Dungeon" being cited as the source.

We are so out of touch if we continue to use that. Just horrible.

The 'got it' thing sounds cool, but I just don't think something like that would ever work. You aren't going to get a whole crowd to sync and do something like that in an excited, spontaneous split second of a made 3-pointer. It would sound like garbage, IMO.

He couldn't bench 185. Still not sure if he could right now. But you're right, those NBA metrics are even less relevant than the NFL combine's.

Completely agree with you, Neebraska. I was in B section seats along the side and I'm sure I'll be sitting next to the same old stiffs at PBA that I am at Devaney. Would've loved a chance to pay a lot more for a better location but was never even given the chance.

The wait list isn't because seats are available, it's so they can accomodate current season ticket holders first. Everyone that is on the wait list will get seats, at least for hoops once they get all the invoicing taken care of for the current STHs. Those went out a couple of weeks ago. I get what you're saying, but there are far easier and more transparent ways to handle all this whole process. They could've been done with all of this stuff last summer.
