  1. Fuck no. If you didn't give up during Collier or Sadler then now is not the time. A lot of doom and gloom here lately. Brighter days are ahead.
  2. Seems like he has improved his ball handling and really playing with a ton of confidence and swagger!
  3. JTB COULD end up being better, who knows...but seems a bit strange, perhaps disrespectful to suggest he might be better than Jake after watching him for 4 minutes in an exhibition game. Can't wait for the season to really start so we can talk about what's happening instead of fan fiction hypotheticals.
  4. Obviously his story has a lot to still be written. Could end up making a team this year or next year or never. Really what we are disputing here is a hypothetical senior season and how it might have benefited him. I don't discount that opportunity as some others do. I think playing in the best basketball conference in the country with every game on TV and scouts in the stands is a bit more of a positive than others. He didn't get drafted. He barely played in the preseason and based on the timing of when he got cut, wasn't among the ones that legitimately were battling for an open spot, regardless of how us Husker fans viewed the situation. He might essentially be right back at ground zero where Walt is and I don't think anybody is shouting off the rooftops to defend how great of a decision to it was for Walt to leave.
  5. All the family issues set aside, I remain befuddled with the logic/advice that led him to declare for the draft after the rough season he had last year. I still remain firm in my stance that he would've been, at worst, in this same spot a year from now with a strong chance that he could've raised his NBA stock substantially with a bounce back season this year. This scenario was all too predictable, and I feel bad for him. I don't want to put it all on coach but hopefully it serves as a tale in caution if we have a player considering leaving early, and whose NBA stock is as murky as TP's was.
  6. I think the writing is probably on the wall. Tough situation for him, but it's not exactly a shocking revelation (when removing the red colored glasses) that this was the likely outcome after declaring and not getting drafted. I wonder if he will try to work his way through the D-League to pursue the NBA dream, or take the money overseas?
  7. May be on the outside looking in. Looks like he registered 3 minutes on Wednesday and was a DNP tonight. Haven't ever really tracked a guy on an NBA roster bubble before but I'm guessing the lack of minutes cannot be a good thing.
  8. That went over my head. I don't think the opening tip has been a Husker hoops strong suit for the better part of the last 15 years.
  9. I don't think the Spain trip is any indicator of Hammond's minutes. Those were exhibition games and they had nothing to lose with playing guys more or tinkering with lineups. Maybe 5-7 minutes is low but I really don't think he is more than a spot duty player. Probably will still see quite a few DNP or 1-2 minute end of game appearances. In this thread he was compared to Jorge Diaz. I think that is a disservice to Diaz. I hope all the best for Hammond but I would be surprised when he is a senior, if he is playing as many minutes or giving us the production that Jorge gave us as a *freshman*.
  10. Not a chance is Hammond starting. I'm guessing his PT will be in the 5-7 min per game range.
  11. jimmykc - handy's post was a little misleading. 2 years ago they lost money due to startup costs of installing equipment etc and overstaffing security. I can't imagine they aren't turning a profit now that they have things figured out.
  12. If he can be a 45-50% 3pt shooter he can end up in the NBA. When guys of similar size like Matt Bonner or Steve Novak can carve out entire decade-long careers based solely on 3 point shooting, that tells me he can be a complete one trick pony and still make it. I would just be surprised if he goes from a slightly above average college 3pt shooter to an elite level NBA shooter. There are plenty of examples where this has happened but it would shock the hell out of me if it happened with Pitch.
  13. Booze is already flowing in the suites with a wink and a nod, just like it is at football games.
  14. Aside from the obvious family issues, I still don't fully understand the logic behind him declaring for the draft and leaving behind a chance to be a potential superstar in America's best basketball conference. Best of luck to our guy but his journey to an NBA roster is going to be long and hard.
  15. I'm thinking he might have some problems guarding the 2 or 3 spot in the Big 10 unless his foot quickness improves.
  16. Don't think hand size is really that big of a deal. Unless you can fully palm the ball, all hand sizes are kind of on the same level - not big enough to palm the ball with one hand. Which is probably the majority of perimeter players in the NBA. I think anything that's not abnormally small like the Burger King guy is really of no disadvantage to a guard in the NBA.
  17. I think I've always seen him as more of a 1-foot jumper. 25 is pretty poor though...that is probably even low on a high school team.
  18. Stated again, I don't see why it's logical for him to leave this year. There's no pot of money sitting there to be grabbed. He's going overseas, maybe barely make 6-figures a year (and probably closing the door to the NBA in doing so) or trying to get into the D-League to make $25K for however long it takes for him to achieve his dream. Barring injury - at worst he comes back and is in the same spot one year later. At best he has bounceback year, along with the team, and he's still playing in the tournament right now further advancing his stock and perhaps getting him into round 1 and a guaranteed contract. Terran - don't go! Putting on a show on a good Big Ten team next year is going to do far more for you than whatever scenario you encounter this year!
  19. While yeah, I don't think it's highly likely that he will play his way into round 1, I think it's his best shot - as opposed to leaving early and toiling in obscurity for who knows how long. Terran will be 23 at the time of the draft. His birthday is 10/8/1992. Honestly ajb and kamdy - you guys are throwing out generalizations about age when you really don't seem to have really looked into what you're talking about. Look at last year alone: -Adrienne Payne played his way into the first round, was 23 at time of draft. I don't think he was on many draft boards prior to last year. -Shabazz Napier - similar, turned 23 shortly after the draft and came out of nowhere last season into to round 1. -CJ Wilcox was picked in the first round and was about 50 days older than Terran will be at the time of the draft Yes - in general the guys picked really high are early entrants. 5th year seniors are indeed a dying breed. But to say there is basically no chance of him playing into the first round because of his age is just dumb.
  20. I still am in the camp that his stock is not that high now and it could only go up with a successful senior season. If he goes now, yeah maybe he toils in the D-league and gets on a roster in a few years. Or goes overseas and makes a couple hundred grand (if that) a year. To me, he's got much better odds at increasing his stock and getting into first round territory and getting to the NBA via that path if he stays. If he stays and has another similar year to this and his stock is flat, the D-league and overseas will still be there. Barring injury of course.
  21. Unless he is projected as a solid 1st round pick, he won't (and would be unwise) to go. Automatically get a guaranteed deal on the rookie scale. If he doesn't get drafted or gets picked 2nd round there's no guarantee he will get paid. I think he'll be back, unless somebody is giving him really bad advice.
  22. Golfer, cmon man...your act with bad mouthing Terran has run its course.
  23. Same as Devaney, people are leaving early. Usually a stream at the under 4 timeout. Not unexpected as there are still many terrible basketball fans that have made it over to the new building. The big problem, and why it's more noticeable now, is the way they designed this building and are letting people exit. They messed up bigtime by not making a full concourse around the bottom level of the arena, instead of just that little lobby that probably 75% of the patrons are entering/exiting from. There are probably 20-ft wide hallways underneath the stands on each side of the 100 level but they don't let people use them because they connect to various private areas. Herding people into those and not allowing them to walk in front of the stands would solve everything, but doubtful that they do that. But would by far be the easiest/most fan-friendly solution. Also could open the SW floor level exit which would keep people from walking in front of the student section on the south end, but will still have the dumbshits from the north end walking in front of the sideline students to leave. The only other viable solution I see that will completely stop this is control that lower SW corner, both in and out so that only students and the people sitting on the court can use that entrance/exit until the game ends. Just have a couple of the 95 extra ushers that stand around with their thumbs up their asses make sure you have a wristband or lanyard to go in and out. Everybody else besides students and courtside have to exit from the 100 level concourse, until the buzzer sounds and then it's open to all.
  24. If true, that's a shame.
  25. That place is hilariously overstaffed with security/ushers etc. Let the kids have fun (aside from throwing things). If they are gonna kick people out for bad language they can pretty much eject everybody from the top of the 300 level down to the coaches on the bench.
