OK not to ruin the fun but our entire upper level is $5 season tickets...$2 less than what they are groupon'ing at.

Leslee Smith out for 2014-15 with an ACL tear
HF_ replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I mean...it's good to be optimistic but I don't see Leslee being ready to play, and contribute, 5 months after an ACL tear. I don't want to rain on the parade but I just do not think it's happening. Even these freak athlete NFL guys take 8-10 months to recover properly. And we're hoping for a full recovery in half that time? -
I honestly don't care if the Arena is overly profitable, or slightly unprofitable. It is extremely valuable for the city. But at some point, in order to keep the arena and its surrounding developments alive and growing, the arena is going to have to be able to be given more flexibility in scheduling. It will be interesting to see if the number/quality of acts degrades over the next few years as the shiny new factor wears off. I hope it doesn't but worry that it will. Do you know how long NU's lease with the city is?

3rd, I also think his quotes "I don't think that has any role in college athletics, particularly at a place like Nebraska," and "You can walk across the street and catch a pop." are extremely contradictory. So basically he is saying alcohol has no role in college athletics, but acknowledging that you can go get drunk before the games across the street. Makes a ton of sense.

2 things - first, Eichorst is not smart for basically completely slamming the door on this. A lot can happen in 5-7 years if he is still here at that point. Say they have to look at selling booze at the football games in attempt to keep fan interest high, or at PBA because Tim Miles leaves and we are average again. People are going to come back to this quote. And he's going to look pretty dumb if that happens. Not saying these things WILL happen but they could, and all he had to do was say something like "we've evaluated it, and at this time it's not something we are interested in pursuing." Second, yes, the arena gave the U a very friendly deal. That's their own fault. I don't know how PBA management looked at the idea of having to wait until August to know what is going on in November through March was a good idea. Or how blocking out an additional 40 days a year for women's games where the building is 1/3 full made any sense from a business standpoint. Again, that is their own fault. The U basically got a new building without having to pay for it. Kudos to Tom Osborne.

Lue is just positioning himself to be first in line when the Cavs fire Blatt after 25 games

Who gives a shit, brandon? If he caused it, fine. Accidents happen. Glad coach and other parties are OK. Next!

Not sure if this has been mentioned here yet or not, but Tyronn is rumored to be a potential target for the open head coaching spot with the Knicks. If that happens, what a way to get baptized as an NBA head coach. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/10937456/new-york-knicks-relaunch-coaching-search-losing-steve-kerr

The good thing about this guy is that all of his effort will be going towards working on his game. One would assume that he's not going to have much school work to attend with the minimal hours of grad classes he will be taking. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up having a bit more offensive skill than his numbers show, but the time the season gets underway.

Welcome to the clusterfuck that is known as the Nebraska ticket office.
-
Did anybody who ordered through the University get them to tell you what seats you got? I mean the exact section/row.
-
Absolutely not. In a game where 1 point (or even 1 team foul that ends up causing a point later) can make the difference between us going to the Dance for the first time in 15 years or not, you start with your best 5. Too important of a game to mess with silly things like starting seniors just because.

So let me get this straight...control our destiny for 4th place

Minnesota has already lost 10 games in the conference and cannot go 9-9. -
Rules are meant to be broken. Let's jam 18K in there for Wisconsin.
-
Lets throw some bleachers in the open end and also sell standing room only. No sense for the AD to not meet the demand for another 1000-1500 tickets.
-
Pretty damn tough road schedule.
-
Says Huskers need 3 wins, however they can find them, , including Big Ten tourney. Says Minnesota needs 2 more wins against teams ahead of them in the standings, including Big Ten tourney.

The problem is the floor is wide open and they let anybody walk around down there at any point in time before or during the game. Too much space to control. Simple solution would be to just not allow anybody onto the floor other than students/courtside. Just have those floor access points roped off or something beginning at 5 minutes before tipoff or something, until after the game. This would also control the assholes leaving early via the floor in front of the students.

Yes, Redzoners, would definitely love for you guys get this going during the visitor introductions. Would be great because it would hit 2 birds with 1 stone by also drowning out the PA announcer's voice!

Biggs - if you are reading this. Try to ignore the noise coming from the media and fans. But listen to the criticism coming from your coaches and teammates. Criticism from your peers and superiors is something you have to deal with your whole life, whether it be a job or in basketball. You have to learn to accept this and help it make you a better person and better player. What you have to realize is this situation could very well impact the rest of your life. If you leave Nebraska (by your own means or not) you will likely have to finish your college career playing at some small school. There is a good chance that could negatively impact a lot of things surrounding your future in pro basketball and life. You are incredibly talented. There have been times this year when you've looked like the very best player on the court - even against teams like Michigan and Ohio State. I see potential for greatness. Listen to your coaches and your teammates. Understand that they want the best for you in the end. Get your head straight, keep grinding and you will thank them down the road. That's all.

Come home, Akoy. You will be in scarlet and cream by this time next year.

No I don't think students have ever gone to the Zoo Bar, it's more of a 40's and 50's crowd I think. I think there are like 20 people who "own" Gate 25, it's not like he runs the place. I think the food is actually pretty good.

Norm I hate to break it to you but WCs has been closed for several years.

I believe Wick and champions club are technically on alumni property, not campus property. Thus they can serve whenever.
