We were certainly a tired team. It was noticed on both offense and defense. Perhaps a bigger concern was that Northwestern provided a good blueprint on how to stop our guards. I am hoping that it was more our tired legs than Northwesterns defense that affected us.
-
Any projection on a starting line up for next year is WAY to premature. I do believe Copeland reminds me a bit of Walt.
-
I understand that we will have six days off, but legs don't know that break is coming. Hopefully this won't be an issue.
-
I know these guys are young, but I do not believe we can go back-to-back playing basically six players. If Isaiah is a no go, Jordy, Jack and perhaps Nick have to be ready to play valuable/productive minutes.
-
Hmm, go figure.
-
I will voice one very real concern. Isaiah lost a big chunk of the preseason with a hip issue. I hope and pray that what occurred last night is not a reoccurrence of that problem.
-
Hmm. I was one of the "naysayers." My concern wasn't the quality of his play or the quality of the person. My only concern is that next year's junior class is going to be large. It creates inequity in the classes. Perhaps that isn't important. We see what can be done with a lone senior and the majority of the players being underclassman. So welcome big guy! Bring us victories!

Tai will be spending a lot of time today in an ice bath. Or heck, he could just stand outside for the same effect...that said, I believe he was cramping up at different times late in the game. I don't know how he did it, but he gutted it out. I also once again give a shout out to that Iowa team. They had a fantastic effort last night, and only one team gets to win, someone had to lose. They certainly didn't beat themselves last night... -
I will throw another wrench into the discussion. If they can only view the replay the last two minutes of a half or game, wouldn't there be an argument that overtime would qualify? The regular game ended. In OT every possession, every shot, every move becomes a do-or-die type moment.

I believe he was warned...was Fran?
-
You may be very right. Tie that to the minutes played by some of our players last night, and we will likely need to go nine deep for Northwestern. Jack may get more minutes along with the three freshmen.
-
A wise coach once told me that if it ain't called, it didn't happen. The issue I have and always will have is the inconsistency of this, and other calls. It can be any sport or any call. My expectation is that it is consistent for both teams and at any part of the game.
-
Yup...the geeks are correct

I will disagree to a certain extent. It is hard for any crowd to be amped the entire 50 minutes of a double OT game. Granted, at times the crowd was passive, but overall I thought the fans brought it last night. At certain points you couldn't hear the whistles, and I definitely did not hear the buzzer at the end of the game. I also visited today with a friend who watched it on TV, and he thought the crowd was really into it. If you factor in that few if any students were at the game, I would rate the crowd at least a B+. As to the student seats, it was explained to me that the individual seats were up for sale. It was assigned seating. Don't take that as gospel, but that is the story I heard.

Wait...I thought one of the Shim-Shams was performing at halftime of the game last night???
-
Hip pointer was what was said. That type of injury is typically day-to-day. But Norm's observation was likely spot on as well for both Isaiah and Jordy.

I should have, especially last night. Heck, a few toddies may have allowed me to sleep a bit better as well. -
I was more than confused last night as well. I seem to recall referees going to video throughout the game. That seemed like a no-brainer last night. Someone was trying to clarify it last night, but it became even more confusing to me. Another point of confusion was regarding Jok's fouls. I thought Fran was going to go after someone on the scorers table. Wonder if someone said something.

What a game. Even after attempting to sleep last night, that had to rank fairly high on my list of most entertaining games. Tension was palpable. Even without the students the PBA was electric. It has been a couple of years since there was that level of excitement...or so it seems. A few other thoughts: * Iowa is a good team, and they are as young as we are. This should be an interesting rivalry for years to come * Jok is a jock. The dude can ball on the offensive end. * Their freshmen are the real deals. Wowser. * Tai is a stud. Damn he played hard all night and had a tremendous all around game. * Glynn was a stud. Wow, what a game. Wow. He seemed unconscious at times...every bit as good as Jok, especially last night * MJ may not be the smoothest player on the offensive end, but the dude balled his heart out last night. Great night. * I thought Ed struggled a bit last night. Not his best game, but nonetheless, he was working his butt off. * Jeriah missed his shots last night, but kudos to him that he kept firing. We need his game, and last night proved to me that he was willing to take his shot. He did well defensively as well. * Jordy road the bench in the second half and in OT, and we needed him; he struggled. Jordy will have many better days, but last night wasn't one of them. * Isaiah looked a bit banged up, but like Jordy, struggled. Isaiah has been sort of a yo-yo through the season, and I expect him to smooth things out. * Glad that Jack got a basket. He is not playing much now, but by the end of the year we will need him. * Waited to the end to comment on Evan. The kid had a very good game with the exception of his FT shooting. I was shocked by his misses. But you can tell that Evan is one of our leaders and the team had his back. My hope is those misses will turn into makes in the future, and the next time he steps to the line in a similar circumstance, he will be money. In retrospect, we had a couple players with off nights, but they were more than offset by a couple premier performances. If they keep going like this, Glynn and Tai are going to gain a national spot light. Fun game, great win! 3-0 baby!!! Let's fill the PBA Sunday and move to 4-0! ...and oh yeah, worthy of mention, getting out of the parking lots after the game was much, much less fun than the game itself. -

Then why, a few seconds later, did they review the out of bounds play???
