I am going to blush a bit...I literally watched the NBA game AFTER I finished watching the NHL game. I know this sacraleguius, but NHL finals is more interesting than the first three quarters of an NBA game.

Welcome young man. Look forward to having you take the huskers to the next level. By the way, I believe (and please correct me if I am wrong) he is not a blood cousin of Bryce and Trey. I believe they are close friends, so they are like brothers or cousins.

I lost the ability to watch a full NBA game. But I turned it on with a couple minutes left in the 3rd quarter and watched to the end. It is hard to reconcile whether the Celtics were that good or the Warriors were that bad.

My "hope" meter was running near empty. Although it is far from full, this added a bit to it. This is the poop I need to see and hear about. I do believe this kid can play a role on this team. If nothing else, work ethic, love of the game and love of the huskers appear to leak from his approach. https://huskerextra.com/news/basketball/mens-basketball/nebraska-commit-cale-jacobsen-is-practicing-what-he-preaches-more-practice/article_dca124bb-2409-5065-a95d-849f24fbdbad.html?utm_source=huskerextra.com&utm_campaign=%2Fnewsletter-templates%2Flocal%2Fheadlines&utm_medium=PostUp&utm_content=d09b424543be8222e4a241a7937d248958c11014

2022 off-season moves: Hoiberg vs. Frost
Huskerpapa replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The streak is more about Nebraska fans rather than husker football per se. You can also say something similar about husker basketball. Nebraskans like their sports and typically show up. It is interesting when the attendance is announced at games. It is focused on the "greatest" fans in college football. I am not convinced we are the greatest. But certainly we are rather tolerant. -
That's how I read it. Heck, Buzzy is listed and he isn't here any longer...correct?

Should have ended last year, but for a few donors who bought blocks of tickets for disadvantaged youth. Winning will provide a cure. -

Welp...I'm not a scout nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but it appears that his experience appears underwhelming. No appearance in any of the scrimmages and he doesn't appear in the top 5 of any of the tests. Then again maybe I missed his name or do not know how to correctly extrapolate information... https://www.nba.com/game/erm-vs-cur-0922200004/box-score

When I read this short review, I feel even worse about last years team and effort. See if you agree. https://www.si.com/nba/thunder/draft-coverage/bryce-mcgowens-potential-outweighs-his-inefficiencies

This sort of hits the nail on the head. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/baseball/plenty-of-conspirators-in-nebraska-baseballs-2022-struggles-rebuild-already-underway/article_56b2719c-089c-5266-a188-e53c7af6dbba.html

Hmm. I had forgotten that he was still giving that option consideration. So good news!

True, but that also points to a significant reason the program and Fred's regime was in trouble. It may be unfair to pick strictly on one player such as Lat; but I personally did not set expectations for the young man that he was a three point shooting savant. Fans in general were promised significant team and program success and Lat was the poster child of the crumbled failure along with our PG and perhaps Keisei to a much lesser extent. I kid you not, if you attended games towards year end, you could audibly hear and physically see the disdain for both Verge and Lat. Personally, I felt Verge had talent; but lacked coaching direction. I felt Lat did not know how to use the talent, was not put into position by the staff to use his talent, or simply lacked said talent. If he succeeds in Australia, that perhaps may help in answering the question...
-
Lat may have had some positive qualities; but he simply frustrated the crap out of me. He struggled keeping his man off of the offensive boards, struggled playing any sort of help defense, struggled staying focused resulting in fouls and temper flare ups, struggled making timely free throws, struggled making lay ups, struggled with consistancy, didn't live up to three point shooting expectations, gawd forbid he ever attempted to put the ball on the floor and attempt to drive and honestly, was somewhat the poster child for the husker struggles during the Hoiberg era. Other than those things, what isn't there to like....
-
So, who is your choice and why...that is the question?
-
Yeah, that rhetoric took place last week when dipwad reddick was asked who his top five all time point guards would be. They were trying to place Chris Paul into that class after Dallas eliminated Phoenix from the play offs. JJ said or inferred that Cousy wasn't that good cause he played against a bunch of players that were firemen and policemen. If that dude is a basketball expert, then espn is in deep dodo for basketball experts. Cousy was the best in his era and almost everyone other than JJ knows that you cannot compare one era to another. Different times, different training, much different political environment.

Lol...I am in my 7th decade absorbed with this team. Trust me when I say that we have never ever watched a really good team. Yeah we have had some decent to good teams; but goodness, we have NEVER won a NCAA game...EVER. Yet historically I have been the koolaid drinker with rose colored glasses. We start getting a bit jazzed about our team, then reality sets in. We seem to always miss out on that certain/uncertain je ne sais quoi. Will it be this year???

Keisei making a jump is a necessity. He can also bring a shot of energy on defense with his pesky effort. I see him as a role player with minutes predicated by his game-to-game shooting.

I note that he hooked up as a grad assistant. Two questions, did he graduate from here? And, who is our grad assistant?

Who do you believe will be our break out player this coming season, and why? Will it be a freshman, a veteran or a transfer?
