  1. Hey, the huskers win. Okay, lame attempt at humor. That scrimmage told me very little. It does tell me that the program effectively shielded any changes that we are implementing.
  2. Yeah...that is why I made sure to specify "may have to"
  3. The thing about NY, and quite frankly any city is that although you live in the city, you actually reside in a neighborhood. The key is finding the right area/neighborhood.
  4. Note who they compare him to... https://247sports.com/Player/Bryce-Hopkins-46059170/
  5. Here are a couple other expectations for next year. On the surface, they shouldn't be difficult... * each and every game we win the loose ball battle. I have not looked at that statistic, but my guess is that we lost more than we won...especially if Trey wasn't on the floor this past season. This falls within the hustle/I care category. I often went home pissed last season because it looked like coaches and players didn't act like they cared. * defensive players will get beat by an offensive player on occasion. What occurs after one of our defenders gets beat matters. Instead of complaining or simply standing by with your finger (figuratively) up your arse or nostril doesn't meet expectations. If you get beat...do your job, don't become a bystander. * act as if you have made a basket or two in your life, or perhaps assisted on a basket at some point in your basketball life. Leave the adoration or celebrations to the fans; in the meantime get your arse back and play defense. * we get it, you were fouled. Play on. * we get it, you didn't foul, move on. * an occasional technical is okay. But don't let it ever cost your team a game. * i want all of our players to be cool. But take the time before a game to be laser focused and ready to go. * it should be cool to represent the name on front of the jersey. I know most of our players and staff are not from here. But take the time to learn what most of this state is about. Then...embrace that work ethic. Take the sparkle along with the lunch pail approach and that will elevate this program to something special.
  6. After years of disappointment, I vowed not to buy into any hyperbole this coming season. I have no clue what the final roster will look like...but I am glad others seem to know. I know my expectations are not tied to changes as we have no clue if player or staff changes will actually make a difference. We can wish, hope, speculate or act like we know...but we won't really know until next season unfolds. Bottom line, win or go home.
  7. Husker starting five back intact. Which qualifies as bad news for every team, with the exception of Nebraska...and perhaps the Hawkeyes...

  9. Pretty darn good citizen as well. Mom is a teacher and dad is a State Patrolman. https://amp.chieftain.com/amp/6608850001
  10. Yeah it did look "strange" last night when they slowed it down. That injury certainly played a role in the game.
  11. It will be interesting to track responsibilities for the assistants. Who will be responsible for development of the bigs, wings and/or PG? Will we have a true defensive coordinator? Will we have an offensive coordinator with Fred taking on a CEO type role? Will we divvy up recruiting by region or perhaps high school versus transfer or perhaps by region? Just thinking out loud....
  12. Have you seen how the floor is laid for husker games at the PBA? Wasn't this floor laid in a similar fashion? Many arena's are the same or very similar.
  13. I would be happy with 15 more than this year's win total...
  14. I just want us to be able to close out on 3's. This is sort of a risk given some of the history. But I am sure he has been fully vetted and the hire means lots of wins.
  15. Yeah, I am not a tweeter. I choose to come here for information. Sorry I hurt feelings asking a question.
  16. Hmmm. Source?
  17. We have one assistant coach opening and I believe two "staff" positions. The staff positions are sort of hybrid roles that can fit as desired. Different programs call them by various names and pay is likely all over the place. The key is that they are NOT "on court" coaching positions.
  18. Yeah...starting to do some needed salvage work. Good to get a sweep.
  19. Shooting 60% from the line is pretty hard to overcome in games like that...
  20. This should make you salivate just a bit... https://247sports.com/college/nebraska/Article/Nebraska-Huskers-basketball-Ramel-Lloyd-Jr-185594663/
  21. Heard we might have landed a top 5 PG for next season. His name is Grant Usawish.
  22. Ahhhhh...how about Bryce. I believe he is heading towards a career in the NBA this year.
  23. Wasn't that the mess that Doc was left to manage through?
  24. Good for him. I trust he will be sort of like Charlie Easley and land at a smaller college and earn some good playing time.
