Many of us are long suffering husker basketball fans. That is the foundation from which this site was built. Here is the deal. I wear certain clothing pieces game after game when we are winning (yes I do wash them). I wish for wins. I pray for wins. I invest monetarily, emotionally, spirituality and physically (jumping/yelling) for OUR team. BUT...when I do not see the team invest their emotion, spirit, efforts for their teammates, then I am hurt and mad. This year I am hoping for a good return on my investment. But I simply cannot go into the season with rose colored glasses. This team (is again) mostly new. But I placed myself squarely into the prove it to me mode. Hey, the league hasn't digressed; so this isn't totally about wins and losses. It is about teamwork, effort basketball IQ and completing the little things that are necessary to be competitive. If we get to that spot, I will be a happy camper; because wins will start appearing...and we will take possession of our home court.

Good grief.

Omg...we need to have a successful season. And so it begins!

Yeah, I'm not buying in quite yet Norm. I hear, but I have not yet seen. I want to place the rose colored glasses on; but nope, not yet. Talent, basketball IQ, effort and basketball skills are easily talked about; but we need to witness the floor burns, the extra pass that turns into a basket, the effort to play team defense, the selflessness to rebound/box out/call out picks and so, so much more that has been MIA. Yeah talk continues to be cheap. I need to witness the action. But hey, at least we are hearing the right words.

God bless him. He was a Chief and NFL icon. May he rest in peace!

I personally am excited for the season. I am not excited about watching us if we perform like we have the past two years. I refuse to hope that we will improve effort, execution and performance. We had talent, especially last year. So adding talent isn't the fix. So we shall see.

Perhaps a stupid question,but, is BTN owned by the Big Ten or is there another ownership partner?

In my opinion, this is the reality. The real fans will be there game in and game out. They may be unhappy, but they will be there. The fair weather fans will only buy and show up if we are winning....However, there is another grouping that was brought about by the team performance of the past two years. That is the group of true fans that finally had enough of the ineptitude that was displayed. That is sad, very sad. But costs, and so forth, simply makes the investment (time, money,effort) unwarranted. I hope we can turn this around...I truly do.

He does have one stain that may create an issue or two. I believe in second chances though...as do most Nebraskans.
